If so, I am planning to show up around midnight with about 5-7 people. Will I be able to get tickets at the door still?

Yes.. Cover charge will remain $15 all night

Posted by feelingsofu4ia on Jan-17-2008 18:58:

Why does it say 20 on the flyer?

Posted by raven848 on Jan-17-2008 19:30:

I believe they had some wrong pricing with the flyer/presale. At one point pre-sale was $15 and Luis (Vizion1) got it changed back to $10. Its going to be $15 at the door.

pretty excited about tonight! anyone know what the opening DJs are like?

Not sure why that version of the flyer got circulated, that pricing is meant for the Orlando show on Friday. We got a lower price for G&D for a Thursday night and wanted to pass on the savings ( times are tough lol) Price will be $15 at the door, guaranteed. I'm the promoter for the event.

Posted by feelingsofu4ia on Jan-17-2008 19:40:

Awesome, thanks for the update, there was a bit of confusion with the shows and venues for a little while there, in Orlando anyways.

Can't wait till tonight! If any TA's wanna meet up, lemme know.

I've been to a couple of your events before as well Luis, haven't been disappointed yet.

One more question. I bought a ticket online through Ticketweb, and used my gf's credit card, and the ticket got put into her name because I had to use her info for the billing address so the card would go through. As long as I have the credit card used to purchase the tickets, will I be fine picking up the ticket in her name? Reason I ask is because she is not attending this event.

Send me a PM with your name and the name that appears on the card and I'll make sure that the door person is aware of this and you have no problems getting in

Posted by feelingsofu4ia on Jan-17-2008 19:59:

PM sent, lemme know you got it alright.

Thanks again man.

TA's lemme know if you wanna meet up!

REVIEW

Ok, G&D did pretty good. Lots of nice electro. A Pryda track, Deadmou5 track, lots of G&D productions. Overall I give it an 8/10. Lots of stuff we recognized but some IDs as well. Keep in mind we were slammed the entire night. Still drunk as piss.

BRIAN, good seeing you!

Clubgoddess, saw you from a distance!

Some other TAs I already forgot about.

JAMES WEST, NICE OPENER!

Next time let them turn up the volume when you're playing.

All kinds of BEAUTIFUL women out tonight, looking good ladies.

UNTIL NEXT TIME.

hope saturday will be good too.

A BLAST 9/10 excellent track selection by G&D. Best sound in Tampa/St.Pete or west coast of Fl for all that matter. tracks were:

Pryda-Muranji
some crazy remix of Tracking the treasure Down
Sia-The Girl you lost to Cocaine
Killers-Read my Mind(Gabriel and Dresden remix)
Josh Gabriel-Summit

thats what I can remember off the top of my head!! Great meeting some TA's. Jason we will def be at Starkillers. Clubgodess nice seeing you.

i hope they bring it good at Mansion cause they brought it real good in Tampa! I even got my cell phone signed by them!

also got some info from Gabriel that they will be doing Pawn Shop this WMC!

Wow! What a great night... I had missed G&D numerous times over the last 3-4 years and wasn't expecting a lot... they blew that place up!! As mentioned, track selection was fantastic, the sound in that place was awesome and it was packed full. I had forgotten how well Tampa can support things like that. Definitely looking forward to more shows at Czar.
Coastie/Simon it was great hanging with you and Kristin, and we will definitely do Starkillers. Andre great to meet you, hope you had a good time in Tampa before you go back to NY.
Another track played was Dirty South - Let It Go (Axwell instrumental)
I recognized the others mentioned and a few more but can't think of them now.... closed with As the Rush Comes. I heard Beautiful Things in there... nice electro mix of Tracking Treasure Down.
and yeah, James West did an AWESOME job opening. Let us know where you will be next.

Posted by jameswest180 on Jan-18-2008 17:08:

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. We are really happy with the turn out and glad everybody had great time, big things in the future. This is only the beginning.

As far as where I am playing next is Jacksons on the Saturday January 26 after the Gasparilla day parade. I will be playing there once a month for Pedro and the boys.

The next show for me and Vizion 1 is Oscar G, Feb 15
Playing with him will be
Pedro M
Santana
Apple
Fizt

at Czar again

Arrow

Actually, James West got me worried - i thought he was gonna pull out the table-top, CDJs and all as he swung ferociously .

I also caught him struggling with the bass-thump - the tune had already passed the bass-notes as he kept swinging the slider up and down. The expression on his face said it all.

And i am saying all this because - i really liked you (as well as the other 2 DJs). Nice job by the openers!

Saw club goddess after quite sometime. She has stopped growing taller - is only getting prettier.

I met some others too who were nice enough to say hello and remembered me from the previous outings - thank you. Sorry, i didn't get your names and to be honest, i don't hear much as i keep my ears plugged.

Good tunes the whole night long - some noticeable flaw was the totally out-of-sync mashup of "Zocalo" and with "Do what you want" vocals.

As i met Brian Fink of 93.3 FLZ late in the night, we agreed on something. "Czar has shown exactly what Amphitheatre management should've done".

Posted by Zewad on Jan-18-2008 17:37:

i had a good time too.. a bit loud, my sister and i were saying how great it was how we could hold a conversation when the opener was playing but when G&D came on we couldnt hear shit...

nice to meet coastie and others...

great to see brian and hang with colleen again... d00d havent seen you in forever!

but really... i was pleasantly suprised of how good a time i had, Tampa really does suck for music and this was a great crowd and vibe... the best part was that it wasnt that packed...

excellent job!

Posted by Kevntampa on Jan-18-2008 18:13:

Also,

Meat Katie - Stop The Revolution (Dubfire)
Tiesto - In The Dark (Dirty South)
68 Beats - Replay The Night
Rachel Starr - Til There Was You (G and D)

Sick sick night...that remix of tracking treasure down was crazy. I missed them play the girl you lost to cocaine

Very cool club, wasn't too packed, crowd was good, sound was amazing, drinks weren't overly priced....all in all I give it a 9 out of 10.

Also played was Andain - Beautiful Things (G&D Mix)

Posted by malon-e on Jan-18-2008 19:12:

The track of the night for me was when they played the Dub version of Dash Berlin-Till the Sky Falls Down. But yes it was definitely a great night and a great club with a great sound. I was drunk as usual, but I know they overcharged me on drinks. But thats water under the bridge. Did anyone else notice how fucked up Dave was. I got a kick out of it. Anyways, if you all had a good time, there is a new night in Ybor starting the 24th of January and every Saturday after it. Its at the old Club Hedo which is now called the Mixx. My boy Shawn David from Progressive Sounds will be the resident dj and he plays some great house, tech house, and trance.

That one was an on-request track. The request was handcrafted on the fine piece of bar-napkin using the finest of inks and hand-delivered to Josh Gabriel by our very own ClubG.

A question for you guys.

What exactly was Josh Gabriel doing on his Mac? To be more precise, how exactly does this type of "combination DJing" work? How do they co-ordinate?

Actually DJ Trix managed Level-III (Formerly Churchill and next door to Amps which is now Club 360) also has a good DJ who spins all-out Trance on Level-II (second floor). Saw him last Saturday and his tracklisting was really impressive. Said he was going to be the resident DJ.

It is indeed pity that there were hardly 10 people listening to his set.
