Im prepping a large list of names of Vanguard Nubies to send to BLOWZO, thanks again.

Regarding the back and forth going on over in this thread, I just think that the intent of the OP was to inform us of a cool offer, independent of the talent. For the first response to be so negative, of course its going to rub the originator of the thread the wrong way.

Clovis, its like if you had a free list going on for viewing of the work of your favorite photographer and you posted the info... If the first response you got was something along the lines of 'that dude fkn sucks' or something to that effect, well....I think that that would rub you the wrong way as well

Thats all im going to say regarding that...perhaps there is some history between all of you, and Ill gladly stay out of that.

Keep groovin'.

well put... thank you

This is the very reason for Aoki at Vangaurd. Get some new faces into the club, then convert them to how we usually like things. E.g. my roommate I mentioned earlier now loves the likes of Lawler and knows many of her old crowd would too if they could be convinced to come over to the dark side.

All of 3 people. Every post? Again, thats BS. The only reason you're saying this is because your happiness bubble has so far been burst a total of 2 times, and you feel it indicates some sort of board-wide trend.

The whole "never get laid thing" that you are bringing up from weeks ago obviously was a joke, so please take a piece of your own advice and don't take everything at face value....I never once claimed to be perfect, in fact I am the first to admit I am far from it.

Hahah, it's so easy to say "I WAS JUST JOKING!!!!11" weeks later.

I'm not saying post positive all the time, all I'm asking is that the negativity is cut down... it gets you nowhere... and quite honestly everyone is just sick of it..

I'm done with this thread. Once again, a bunch of other people have (and are) saying how much Aoki sucks, yet for some reason Bas is the big bad worst offender.

I'm thinking benneY Benassi Hanna this weekend... I have been thinking about it all day... thanks Josh!

I think there are some great mashup DJ's that are great and keep the crowd going. Switching through House, Hip Hop and Rock.

David Rockwell Friday nights is a good example.

I know I just said the H word and this forum has many die hard electro fans.

Steve Aoki has been DJing for many years so I'm sure he at least knows how to match a beat. May not be a #1 choice for a die hard electro fan. I'm sure they will also be playing house in The Front rooms and in the patio.

You can't hit a home run on every event. Every experienced promoter, club owner and DJ knows that.

I haven't seen Aoki in a bit (I left when his set started at LAX for Junkie XL) but the older times I saw him, it was pretty much just about the exact same set the whole time. Just the same top 40 hits in just about the same order. He's working with Junkie XL and other DJs so i'm sure he has improved alot since then.

Now DJ AM, that's another thing. I don't think I heard someone trainwreck more than him opening for Junkie XL at LAX. It seemed most of his mixes were completely off (to not even mixing at all) and I kept on cringing mid convo with people when I heard them.

I have been on these boards for over a year now posting and viewing regularly and, from what I have seen, lots of people think Aoki sucks. However, within the context of this board, just as many people accuse you and your DJ partner of being assholes. I do actually think you are elitists and and treat people in a demeaning manner much of the time. However, I have also seen you both respond to logic, which makes you okay in my book. I'm just saying, both opinions seem to hold equal water on this board and that gives credence to both arguments. On a final note, saying your done with something just because someone is criticizing your behavior is akin to the cliche "Pick up your marbles and go home."

Posted by vhx1 on Jan-12-2008 10:17:

its definitely nice of giant to give complimentary admission for tomorrow night. With that being said, elitist or not, aoki is not looking to great from all the youtube vids out there

With the exception of scenster publications, the consensus off the board also seems to be that he blows dogs for quarters. I have never heard any of his stuff my self, i think that this thread will motivate me to do some digging and report back with an opinion

Giant is always fair. You think you can see these DJ's you see for $10 at Cinespace or Tentation for that amount anywhere else in the world?

I had this displeasure of seeing him open for Tiga a few months back at one of Traffic Events' parties. Needless to say there were about 10 people inside for Aoki and everyone else outside for Justin Sloe. Aoki CANNOT beatmatch to save his life. Which confuses the hell out of me, he uses Ableton...that pretty much takes care of the beatmatching

I have never actually heard him spin, but I do love the Benihana, so how bad could he be?

Hey there!
Don't blame me that one Mr. Nate!
