Lexicon Avenue - Darkbeat Featured Artist Mix - Jan 08'

House music never sounded quite the same since Lexicon Avenue's sublime "Here I Am" appeared as the first release on Forensic Records three years ago. An awesome journey into deep funky tripped out bliss; this was the first collaboration between three of the North's most enthusiastic DJs and producers - Scott Bradford, Mark Armstrong and Chris Scott. Since then there's been no turning back, the track was picked up by Deep Dish a year or so later and released on Yoshitoshi, complete with two stunning new dub's which signalled the path that Lexicon Avenue was intent on taking - deep dark and dubby.

Maybe you guys should buy this album while you are waiting

From Stomp:

UK globetrotters Layo & Bushwacka! are finally destined for Australia this March, after a 3 year hiatus! That’s right - this Easter Weekend, London’s famed duo (aka Layo Paskin and Matthew Bushwacka! Benjamin) will launch their tour de force album “GU33 Rio”, from seminal label Global Underground (out locally through Stomp).

Layo & Bushwacka! are renowned for their 5 hour dj sessions showcasing a fusion of techno, breakbeat, electro, dub and electronica & have been DJing for well over a decade, back to back at their regularly monthly residency Olmeto at London club The End.

GU33, inspired by the exotic surrounds of Rio de Janeiro, is a tribute to their home away from home, featuring the most influential old skool classics through to present day gems. CD 1 is a treasure trove of classic, lost gems, and defining moments in the evolution of house and techno. Ellis D rubs shoulders with Marshall Jefferson via Daou, Lil Louis, DJ Pierre, Francois K, and Eddie Flashin’ Fowlkes are all present, as are the likes of Cajmere, Detroit’s Kenny Larkin (with a rare Hawtin mix of ‘We Shall Overcome’).CD2 is all about more recent and forward-facing bumpy, electronica. Phonique, Pier Bucci, Guy Gerber, Stefan Goldman, Martin Buttrich, and Henrik Schwarz are all included for your listening pleasure. Also included in the mix are a host of Layo & Bushwacka’s own material, including ‘Tabloid’ and ‘Saudade’.

Layo & Bushwacka’s GU033 Rio De Janeiro is out now locally through Global Underground / Stomp.

4 stars “ bursting with Chicago grooves , acid house & Detroit techno & an en vogue selction of minimal techno & wobbly electro house” Mixmag
“this is a pair of brilliantly programmed & dunamic mixes that you’ll definitely want in your collection “: Dj Times

DID SOMEONE SAY ACID HOUSE AND DETROIT TECHNO????
