I always let it sit for at least 2 minutes.

truth. normally i shampoo, rinse, put in conditioner then soap up and rinse the soap, then rinse the conditioner, so not that long. however, i work at a pool during the summer and my hair gets damaged as fuckin hell so i leave it in longer then
