So in other words you lose half of the polyphony (which isn't really that bad at all), you just adjust the settings as a VST, while the CPU drain is much less as it's hardware and otherwise it's basically a TI?

If so, then WIN! Love it

one would assume so.

the potential for cost savings on this unit are quite massive. i'm starting to think it might be less than $900! they'll probably charge more and pocket the gains though...

Right now a lot of gear is priced the same in america in dollars as it is in europa. Too bad distributors have these new agreements where a lot of american companies arent allowed to ship to europa anymore

I don't think I could live with half the polyphony. The TI's polyphony drops fast if you use some complex patches. 80 isn't close to the reality

Would this be the same if I brought from an ebay seller? Don't like the idea of having to pay import duty though

Yeah. Not to mention that the TI goes ape shit if you overload the polyphony.

Posted by Sean Walsh on Jan-14-2008 17:52:

Yeah I've had NP maxing out the polyphony on my TI.

The 3rd stereo output will fucking own, really happy about that. My biggest gripe about the Virus is the 2 audio outs. 3 will be a lot more workable.

UK price seems to be 829 - too much

http://www.dv247.com/invt/48362/

Blofeld for me, absolute bargain @ 299

^^
I got my Polar TI used for 900 pounds, you'd be better off getting a used TI for that much!

Spot on. Price is just to high compared to a second hand Ti.

Shame : (

Will the blofeld have USB connectivity like the TI? (for VSTi integration). I've heard that the guy who programmed the TI VSTi works for Waldorf now.

Access probably fired him for failing so hard.

They've only just been released man, that is RRP. We all know no one actually BUYS at RRP lol. In a month or two they will come down to a more sane price I think - $900US or so.

The blofeld is definately a bargain though!

Posted by flutlicht junky on Jan-14-2008 22:08:

How much they gonna come down to as I can buy a Virus C for 400 and a 2nd hand Ti for about 900. I hope the indicated prices are incorrect

http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNA...Snow-Synth.html

Suggested retail price is: $1.350,00, 1100. (Incl. 19% MwSt). Fail.

NovaMusik have them on pre-order for $1250. When they come down to $1,000, I will buy one.

Double Fail. Might as well save up a bit more for the full TI or just buy one second hand.

and i bought my microQ for 700$
tho that has raised too 999$ now?

strange

Posted by LfmC on Jan-16-2008 17:47:

I have to say I'm kind of glad they made a cut down version instead of a new full blown beast. I just recently got the Ti and would hate to have to upgrade so soon
As far as the new Ti output: AWESOME!
Just what I wanted for xmas
Hopefully there will be other enhancements too..

its the same, its the one I bought and at that shop, it raised 300 from oct/nov when I bought it. the phoenix edition is nothing special other than the looks.

yes i know. but here they just sell it a lot more expensive becuase it has this new look

Posted by Zak McKracken on Jan-16-2008 22:53:

fair enough it seems to be the issue now too so maybe i was lucky, i couldnt find a second hand so I was forced to this, i wanted it BAD! and with the bad dollar it was all a nice deal for me. tho if the blofeld ends up at the same price or less im not sure what to think of the blofeld or the deal i did
now back to thread: snow looks cool
