I started up on the ARG after I watched the movie, answered a lot of questions. To be honest, this is exactly what I was expecting. It's not supposed to be a "story" from multiple point of views. There's no "plot", so to speak, to uncover. It's the equivalent of the police watching a security tape. They don't know what is going on or why it's their job to figure it out. I started http://cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com/ there and worked my way from oldest post to newest. Awesome story, can't wait to find out more. |
Watched it over on sat and man i really liked it a lot. At first i was kinda skeptical about how dangerous the monster is.. because he was just a big monster and the main characters could have just.. you know.. hid in a cave or something. But then when that monster started fucking up those people on the street with the new "attack".. i was like fuck i would hate to be in that shit (i dont want to spoil it for peoples who havent seen it yet). I thought the best part was when the statue of liberty's head was on the street and you see like a mad group of people standing there taking pictures not caring about the danger. That hobo joke that hud was talking about made me giggle a few times haha
. The only thing that sucked when i watched it is that i caught the flu in the theater i was watching it in.. that and the guy sitting next to me was totally hogging up the armrest.
Oh and there was only one person clapping for the new star trek movie.. everyone in the theater was pretty much laughing at him.
i want my money back
PS. IMPORTANT: Two viewers at the Harkins Theatre in Chino Hills, CA had seizures while viewing the movie. Avoid the movie if you are easily motion sick!
I just saw this film last night, and if I have to use one word to describe it, it would be WOW. I can't recall a movie in recent memory that completely engrossed me the way this one did!
This film is for a true movie goer. The person that can appreciate a good film. Basically, someone that recognizes originality.
If you're the type of person that likes to be spoonfed when watching a movie, then this film is not for you. What do I mean by spoonfed? If you like closure and explanations at the end, this movie is not for you. If you like typical hollywood cliche movies, this movie is not for you. If you're easily sickened by an abundance of motion, this movie is not for you.
If you can go into this film, and suspend disbelief. And take it as its presented. Which is a video that was retrieved after the catastrophic events. Then let me tell you, you are in for a hell of a ride!!!!
If you don't have the mental capicity to diversify this film from a standard movie, then you will more than likely not be impressed with whats already being considered a modern day classic.
Besides the obvious sci-fi theme of the movie, I loved how well written, acted, and edited this movie was, it was like the blair witch project with a huge budget. Just amazing and creative movie making, from beginning to the nail biting end.
