And his recent Fabric was fucking awful.

I'd venture a guess that a lot of it has to do with having actually seeing/hearing him live, 'cuz the sets I've heard seem like they'd be great in person, but don't always make for the best bedroom listening. (cue 'goes off great in a club' comments)

...though his Fabric was awesome imo, too.

Yeah - living in the U.S. that obviously is the biggest problem for anyone trying to get into Villalobos, because you just aren't going to see him - ever - unless you travel out of the country.

And as far as his Fabric disc - I just thought it was boring and uninspired with little to no sense of flow, clearly all matters of personal preference/opinion.

yes it's coming on Cadenza I also heard....
I hear mixed sounds tho, one says its Villalobos and others say it isnt, weird
Just have to wait and see I guess

I know.

Laurent Garnier did it in the Cloud making machine, then Kollektiv Turmstrasse included kiddish sounds in Grillen Im Park. Seems to be the new cool thing. Positive vibe though.

Grillen Im Park originally came out a couple years ago, though, iirc. It was on some recent label comp., but it was even before Melodrama, I think.

Cloud Making Machine is new?

I, for one, love this track. I love the bell sample he's using and the way the kids sing. Slamming stuff.

Ya I believe it's a piano, whatever it is, it's really hypnotic

Decent track. not something you'd catch me playing but still alright to hear in a club.

You don't seriously expect me to watch another video with this horrible joke of a track, do you?! You might be right, but I still think this one is horrible. What genre is this supposed to be anyway? If there's no name yet, I'll gladly supply some.

Oh ok. Reminded me of this instrument I played in high school once. It was a series of tubular bells set up like a piano...had to hit it with a mallet. Kind of like a glockenspiel, but not really

edit // turns out they were called bells...just straight up bells

Just heard it in an Ame set and totally loved it.

Can anyone confirm if it's the new Villalobos yet?

I like it, especially the clicks at the end of the percussion loop, it kind of reminds me of Que Belle Epoque 2006.

samples don't work for me

edit: proxy at work

Interesting, i think this is that really cool track that was playing last night when i left the club (me was playing here). Weird to get an ID as soon as i log into TA, haha. I usually hate child voices in music, but this just sounds refreshing, funky, awesome all around.
