I think this tune is solid, and like a fair bit of the tunes he plays - but in general find him to be a mediocre DJ at best, and as a producer he's worthless unless he's the one playing his tunes. And his recent Fabric was fucking awful. |
Yeah - living in the U.S. that obviously is the biggest problem for anyone trying to get into Villalobos, because you just aren't going to see him - ever - unless you travel out of the country.
And as far as his Fabric disc - I just thought it was boring and uninspired with little to no sense of flow, clearly all matters of personal preference/opinion.
yes it's coming on Cadenza I also heard....
I hear mixed sounds tho, one says its Villalobos and others say it isnt, weird
Just have to wait and see I guess

Laurent Garnier did it in the Cloud making machine, then Kollektiv Turmstrasse included kiddish sounds in Grillen Im Park. Seems to be the new cool thing. Positive vibe though.

Ya I believe it's a piano, whatever it is, it's really hypnotic

| Originally posted by chesco I'm pretty certain there is no bassline to the original track. Its just a piano melody and the vocal.. The bassline is just from another tune in the mix. Notice how its different in the second video. Decent track. not something you'd catch me playing but still alright to hear in a club. |

Just heard it in an Ame set and totally loved it.
Can anyone confirm if it's the new Villalobos yet?

| Originally posted by bas Oh ok. Reminded me of this instrument I played in high school once. It was a series of tubular bells set up like a piano...had to hit it with a mallet. Kind of like a glockenspiel, but not really ![]() edit // turns out they were called bells...just straight up bells |

I like it, especially the clicks at the end of the percussion loop, it kind of reminds me of Que Belle Epoque 2006.
samples don't work for me
edit: proxy at work
