I guarantee if you shit in whatever generic cereal she's eating tomorrow she won't mind if you move out.

Posted by echosystm on Jan-29-2008 06:09:

why exactly are your mum and boyfriend living off disability pension? if your mum is a near-vegetable, then i dont think it is nice to leave tbh.

or are they just scamming the system and could work without any probs?

Well he hurt his back, and is getting workers comp. She's still looking hard for a job, still yet to find one. She is a dentist but with no office of her own, and no Florida dental license. These really are some hard times, but I just had to let it be known that I won't stick around forever, waiting for the next big crisis to freak out about..

if you really feel that bad about it perhaps you could try and help her get her Florida dental license? like pay for the application fee or something? but yeah, I agree with the general consensus, you can't support them forever and if you want to move out than go for it.

Posted by idoru on Jan-29-2008 07:24:

Don't think about putting up with their crap. You're twenty, you're giving them notice, they should be able to do just fine. If they can't support your decision, tough.

What kind of a job is she looking for? Is she looking strictly for dental work? Why can't she apply for a really basic job (like something in retail) and work even part-time while looking for a more permanent job? Sorry, but I think it's moronic to sit there and say, "Oh, woe is me, I can't find the job that I want so I'm going to sit here unemployed and accept money from my son, la-de-da." No. Grow up, swallow your pride and work at some basic part-time job to support yourself until you come across the job that you want. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here.)

Oh, and also...

dont you love your mother enough to support her in her dire moment after shes been through a divorce and obviously is in a complete state of utter stress? After she raised you and gave you an opportunity to go out and find a job? I grew up in a fucking foster home somewhere in rural ukraine.

Posted by kiev_42 on Jan-29-2008 08:54:

you are a perfect example of the kind of mindset children have as a result of growing up in a capitalistic country.

Posted by kiev_42 on Jan-29-2008 08:56:

im playin man. If I was in your position I would most likely move out, I mean technically you could send her a bit of cash from wherever it is that you live, right? Speaking personally though, the main reason I would move out if I was you is the massive ammount of pussy living alone leads you to acquire. If thats not a good reason, NOTHING (even riding the bike) is!! keep that in mind. -Kiev

They are pissed because my mom is unemployed, both living off disability checks from the government, and I help out with $400 a month with bills and food, etc. Well, I've got a nice crib to move into which is only 5 miles from work (instead of 20), I can ride the bus (instead of drive), I can ride a bike anywhere I need. I can afford it. Everything's right, it's that right time..

Need your input, what should I do?

Your moms gotta get off her ass, find a job & get rid of the unemployed gimp bf.

So wait, they are pissed because you want to move out and start your life?

So, I'm moving to Erie, Pennsylvania. . .FUN. . .

My mom is going to get her Pennsylvania dental practitioner license. The job she got pays $12,000 a month. I'm going to get perhaps $2000 a month of that so I can take care of my debts, start a small-time computer business, and a holding company for investments. The plan is, once she gets out of debt, and we save enough money, we'll start our own dental practice, where I will run the financial business part, and she will take care of the patients and medical issues.

I was going to stay here in Tampa, but my mom really wanted me to go with her, and she bargained with me on this. So, free money to start my own business. What's not to love?

Posted by Spacey Orange on Mar-02-2008 04:09:

so you're planning to whore you're mother out. what an ungrateful bastard.

Could have been worse - could be moving to Cleveland.

Sounds like a good plan. This is cliche but family is the most important thing in life. If you guys can work together and help pursue each others goals then its a win win situation. Good Luck. Oh yeah working with family sucks most of the time. Be warned.

Hell once I turned 18 my parents took me off the lease and kicked me to curb. Now they just happy because they grandparents and all now and plus we lot closer to both set of parents after we moved into that log home. Instead they only have to drive about 8 miles then the 82 miles to the grandkids lol. Now I'm a lot closer to work. Soon I have to post pictures of the Log home house once we get settle in because 3/4 house is mess with boxes. Because we just off load all the boxes earlier today. I was lucky to have dsl connected up on Friday to the new house or I would of had to wait and all lol.

I just hope it all works out for you and all there with what ever you with your life.
