unorganized Chaos. The line outside was not bad, but once you got in the store it was insanity!!

Posted by aBigWreck on Mar-27-2008 03:28:

I got in line at about 2, was in it for an hour.

Posted by llavoe on Mar-27-2008 05:55:

I am sure it should be a little better by friday. But I am still glad I chose will-call

Posted by Dream Beamz on Mar-27-2008 06:10:

doubtful it will be better friday. A ton of people get into Miami on friday. Will call and store = bad Idea. $12 for fedex 2 day air = good idea

Posted by llavoe on Mar-27-2008 06:25:

I have never had a problem with will-call.

Posted by Dream Beamz on Mar-27-2008 07:11:

some people say they never have had a problem with will call. but heres the problem. lets say a club has two separate lines. one to get your will call and one to let you in with your ticket. You basically have to wait an extra 30 mins to an hour in the first line just to get into the line to let you in. If you are going to a club where your ticket only guarantees entry to a certain time this could be a problem. Lets face it, your going to WMC so you have saved money up. Spend the extra $12 and have the tickets mailed to you.

yea well that too... but an unorganized club can be just as bad as space. waited for an hour at bed yesterday because my gf and i were on the guestlist. line never moved, then just left. so its not just space thats the issue.

Disorganized Chaos is right. Budget an hour for standing in line and getting tickets. If you don't have a printout, they have an internet terminal to look up your order #, but this will add to your wait. If you can, bring a printout.

The store was NOT "quick and easy" as they claimed--way understaffed & small for the amount of tickets being picked up.

figured it wouldn't be
that's why I got tickets mailed or willcall
plus the store is only open till 8pm... so I'd be pretty screwed for most of my parties

Posted by frogman777 on Mar-27-2008 21:07:

Picked up my tickets at the store this afternoon. The line went around the corner of the hotel and back around 50 feet or so. From the end of the line to getting my tickets in my hand was about 1 hour.

I think next time I will get tickets mailed.

Just make sure that if you are picking up tickets that they are pickup tickets. One guy that was in line by me waited the whole time only to find out that his tickets were will-call.

Total clusterfuck. I'm sooo glad I went with will-call.

OMFG I cannot agree more strongly. That Wantickets store was a madhouse- what the hell kind of third world system were they using in there? Not to mention the employees... "Sorry, your order is not showing up in the system." Five minutes later she looks again in the same place and surprise, there is my order.

Posted by llavoe on Mar-31-2008 17:44:

I think it is a great concept, but just needs to be fine-tuned. I knew not to go with it the first year they offered it.

Posted by raven848 on Mar-31-2008 19:25:

I posted this somewhere else but I got into town about 8pm Wednesday night (later than I thought I would) and once I got settled I was ready to walk down to the store. Looked up the address and saw the 8pm thing. I needed my tickets for Deadmau5 that night so I sent an email to customer service with my phone number, they called me right away and Rebecca told me if I came down right then she would get me my tickets. This was at 845 or so. I made it there just after 9 and there weren't a lot of people left, but it was still somewhat of a madhouse. I didn't have my receipts (no printer) but it still went very smooth. I heard one lady say she still hadn't taken her lunch break. It might have been chaos, but they worked their ass off to get the tickets out. Definitely seemed understaffed as well, hopefully next year is better.

WANTICKETS.COM store at WMC 2008 SUCKED HAIRY ASSHOLE!!!

Seriously though wtf was up with that late 1800's system that the understaffed people had to manually go and look up every single ticket for every single event for every single person. I had the nightmare happen to me on Wednesday during the day before Nikki Beach. LUCKILY I went into the lobby and slithered my way in front of the line if had not done that I would have been in line another hour or so.

Keep in mind that I only chose to pickup the tickets at this pathetic store because that's what the website recommended to do. The ironic thing was that the 'chaos' they were trying avoid at the clubs/events happened smackdab in front of their face.

I hope they fix their pre-electricty system for next year.

Posted by DPetey81 on Mar-31-2008 20:02:

Alphabetical order by last name would have worked soooo much better. I had 11 f'n tickets to pick up and they had to search through their shitpile of papers to find each and every order number. I, too, did this option because they made it sound like such a good idea. I have never had any problems with will call at any event I've ever attended, but Wantickets seemed so sure of themselves on this one. The operation was a mess. The sad thing is, that I would almost consider doing it again if they assured us of a proper system, including alphabetical order and maybe a little more utilization of something called computers?

Posted by llavoe on Mar-31-2008 20:11:

It will get better for next year. If it doesn't they won't do it. I am going to bet that wantickets.com lost out on some $$$ because of all the confusion. They want to do this service to increase sales, not to lose them.

Posted by JD8180 on Mar-31-2008 20:31:

this is the first time they do it, they probably didn't expect so much. next year it should be better. it saved my ass for armada night because i was able to sell the hard tickets after i decided not waiting the 3 hour line.

Posted by TranceNation1 on Apr-01-2008 21:11:

fuck the line was like 45 min. just to get inside

Posted by jashic on Apr-01-2008 22:53:

Not only was the line 45 minutes long. Once you got inside, you waited another 30 mins. Then, the ppl who handle the tickets ask for bribes to get you your own tickets that you already paid for. Some direct quotes:

"What's my motivation for getting you your tickets?"
"How much to get them faster?"

Once he handed me my tickets...

"Didn't you say you were going to give me some incentives for getting you your tickets?"

Fuck that, I'd rather pay at the door to avoid drama. Either that, I'm using ticketweb from now on. Wanttickets is shady.

Dude you should write to customer service about that. That's one thing about wanttickets, they really have good customer service (except at the store, of course). I'll bet you'll at least get the guy in trouble, and you might be able to get a $$ credit out of it. More tickets! Yay! Haha
