Then later on he wouldn't let Julian in saying it's because he was already drunk but he was acting just fine and he didn't even seem that intoxicated.

apparently Julian told the bouncer to fuck himself at some point lol. I wasn't outside for that, but if he did I could understand why he didn't get in. I spoke to the bouncer for a bit at the end of the night and he seemed pretty cool and explained the situation to me.

The AC was a big problem...apparently they were having issues with it the night before and were worried about causes leaks in the unit or something. They are fixing it this week.

Heehee dousing.

Started out the evening with Steve, Sheila, and Chris pregaming at the McDougal St. Ale House. Good choice Keryn Although it may have appeared to some that I was sleeping, I was really just leaning back and resting my eyes to better appreciate the music in the front room. Great job ladies!

So as some of you may have noticed, I doused a little bit myself... Many thanks to Sheila, Z, and Mere for watching out for me and not minding me snuggling when I was "napping." And many thanks as well to Molly and Feryan for the 2 times it took them to get me up and be social and dance. Also, that other guy from Albany whose name I couldn't and still can't remember. (Who was he again Molly?) Jake, it was good seeing you again, I vaguely remember spending time with you and apparently I have photos to prove it. Chris, my buddy, thanks for watching out for me. You're the coolest, even if you stole my photons while I was passed out :P

Once I got up and made it into the back room Keryn was on. Zomg Keryn! That was fantastic! You made the five thousand degree heat bearable by your awesome music Kala, I lost track of you somewhere. I remember asking you to meet your cousin. And then I walked by Suby a few times. Then when I asked Z about you she was like, "oh silly drunkie Erica, she left like 2 hours ago!" Whoops!

That bouncer was an asshole. I've been to Love like 5 or so times in the past few months, and Cleavon is usually the bouncer. He's from some outside company that they hire and apparently he's been relocated. He never would have done that. I hope they replace the guy they have now. That cool bartender you were talking about is Liz. She has a cranberry and vodka ready for me when she sees me walking towards the bar, lol.

I had a great time everyone

Pictures!

I asked the bouncer very nicely why he was not going to let him in and what did he do. The only thing he could tell me was he knows why, and he's not getting in under any circumstances because he is intoxicated and gave me all this blah blah blah about how he's been doing this for 20 years and he just knows when to not let someone in. I wasn't out there the entire time but for the time I was out there Julian was acting just fine and didn't seem to be drunk at all. He was very cordial and socialized with us from the other side of the rope. He was there while I spoke to him and Julian was not rude he simply said that is fine I will just go somewhere else.

It pretty much went something like me walking up to him with all my friends behind me:

Bouncer: Let me see your ID.
Me: Here you go. (I even had my ID with me)
Bouncer: Don't smoke at me.
Me: Sure.(I stepped back to finish smoking for my friends to step up & show their IDs)

-30 seconds later:

Bouncer: You have to throw you cigarette out.
Me: You got it. (and I shot the bud out)

-at which point...

Bouncer: I am not letting you into the club.

-Which followed with a bit of drama from my friends for a minute and we turned around and walked away. I still wanted to try to say hello to somebody from TA outside so I came back infront of the club, while my friend had a problem starting his car. That's when I saw you and other NYTA's when they came out for a smoke.

That's basically what went down on my behalf while I was there. Why would I wanna tell a bouncer to go "fawk himself" before I passed the red robe unless I wasn't intending to go into the club? (and to be perfectly hypothetical, if I was in the bouncers place, I would tell you the same thing at the end of the night because I wouldn't even care to make any other reasons or excuses up)

I'm not taking sides, but the bouncers @ Love don't just turn people away at the door for no reason. They have a 100% open door policy, and thats pretty known. I initially got pissed at the bouncer for telling me it was none of my business why he wouldn't let him in, because as someone involved in throwing the party, I have the right to know. At the end of the night though, we talked and he said that ReenTeenTenn told him to go fuck himself, and that his friends were cursing and acting beligerent. In that case, he most definitely has the right to not let him in.

Like I said though, I wasn't outside for that. I'm anxious to hear what RTT says happened...if Julian tells me much a different story, I'll talk to the owner of Love and set up a meeting with himself and that bouncer and we will figure it out from there.

ahhh, I posted this in the other thread but I'll post in this one too.

I had a lot of fun and all of the dj's played really well.

It was great seeing all of you, I haven't been out in nyc in so long and it was really refreshing. I need to get out more.

Steven Neil is a good dude, thanks for the drink mate

Neither I nor my friends spilled a cursed while we were infront of a club. To be more clear: after the bouncer "86" me, my friends started asking why won't he let me in, because they were just as confused as I about the Bouncer decision, but I told my friends to turn around and go somewhere else. I just figured to myself on the spot that there is nothing to argue about if the bouncer didn't see a point for a club to make $200 just on the door covers. (lets not even go into how much MORE was I about to drink before 4am)

Not to add fuel to the fire but there was a real eager ball-buster the last time I was there (Jon O'Bir). I walked down the steps and got *behind* the 1 and only person online (so, facing the person in front of me directly) and the bouncer said, "Hey boss, move the line up the right side of the stairs," and I said sure. Then I heard someone inside scream that I kinda picked out as someone from TA (haha), and I chuckled, and the guy goes, "Hey boss, there's nothing funny," and I didn't say anything (seriously, guys do I ever give people trouble? lol).... Then he goes, "Boss, take a look at this paper over there, it's the rules of the club, you should go over them.".... I said, "Boss, I've played here a good 4 or so times before, I don't need an education," and I walked up and paid my full admission (cos they said I wasn't on reduced).... No biggie at the time, but I think it sounds like there's some more and more grumpy workers there, I remember it being the coolest experience the first 4-5 times I went there, everyone was crazy nice... Not saying they're not nice, but it seems like it's slipping a tiny bit... Could be isolated incidents though, just saying! Although the bartenders are still crazy nice, and even though the list was a bit messed up, the people were nice about it, but that one bouncer gave off a bad vibe

Anyway, I wish I was there on Saturday night, but I feel a lot better now and I guess it's cos I didn't go out lol...

What happened to the big Hispanic dude outside the main door ? That guy is maaaad cool. From what it sounds liek, seems liek its a diff dude there now.

you're not adding fuel to the fire, you're adding your two cents, and its welcomed.

as of last month, Love hired an outside security company to handle venue security. The rest of the staff (bar, hostesses, coat people, etc..) are all the same. I'm bringing all this up in a long email to management tonight so we can work it out for the 23rd.
