Otherwise, it sounded rather deep ... usually you get this massive 'epic' trance that try to make statements with these ludicrous melodies and anthem builds. This piece simply stays cool, thumps away under a shadow-cornered street light watching the metro cars sip by the freeways... nodding and nodding under an atmospheric hood.

Thanks! That's exactly the kind of feel I was going for.

Like how this starts. Lovely atmosphere.

Bass is very nice. Synths are great too. Track progresses very nicely at just the right pace.

I like the fact you haven't cluttered the mix too much but I personally would like to hear a bit more on the percussion.

Other than that, good job.

This has the nice ambient progression of classic trance and the complexity of modern trance....it's an amazing combination!

Besides bringing up a few levels and other mastering processes, I don't see many problems with it at all, nice job!

this is a really nice tune. personally i love the way that airy pad sounds and wouldn't change it one bit. things seems to fit and work very well with eachother, all those subtle, distant, foggy pads and melodies sound great. very lush tune you've got here. keep it up jbj

Cool track. Not normally my thing but I like it. It's a head nodder.

I think it suffers from reasonitis, but its a catchy tune that i would enjoy very much at an outdoor party as the sun starts to set. Good work on the percussion, and i think its a good thing that you keep it simple.

quite enjoyable I have to say, definately potential there, I'd also like a remix pack if there's one going

I like this, nice to hear some "trance-sounding" trance for a change.
Because of the old school feel of it, I felt like it was a bit too slow.
Probably cause I'm used to hearing stuff like this at 140+.
The beat could be a bit tighter and the percs more exciting IMO. Great job, keep it up.

I've been listening to a lot of old fast stuff in the past few weeks, so the BPM will probably climb for my next track.

I've been trying to download this many times now, but Sendspace won't let me for some reason. Any chance of a Rapidshare link to the updated version as well?

Thanks.

No problem:

Everything fits together, it's a nice track, hypnotic, intricate and rolling enough to be truly called "trance".

The major thing against it is that it's not really very memorable, just a bit of a cool filler. But there's a place for these tracks. I think the BPM fits the track, the melodies have a "lazy" feeling already, it's not the BPM that necessarily makes it sound slow.

I'm not entirely sure if I like the noticeable bass chord changes, like at 4:04.

The "songwriting" part, actually coming up with the melodies and progressions and making them more memorable, is definitely what I think I need to work on the most.

Track is good but for me is more ambient than trance. Production is good, layering is good, some good pad work and some interesting arps that come and go. Doesn't follow the typical build to a climax format though which I must prefer.

Personally I'd add a break somewhere not necessary to build it up but just to give the drums a rest and add some change.

Nice to see people still making actual trance music.

Very nice tune, the song writing / arrangement sounds are spot on. Please resist any urge you may possibly have to add any sort of breakdown or degrade it with other cheap trance tricks. I'm sure I neednt say this... I'd just hate to see a nice tune be raped cliches.

My only suggestion is that you work on your bass instrument a bit. To me, it sounds too punchy, too up front, and maybe a little bit hollow... just doesn't really fit in with the rest of the track. If this were house or techno I'd probably feel differently, but for this track you want your chords to do the talking, while the bass rides along underneath. Make it a bit deeper and rounder, a little bit lower in volume, and maybe some tighter compression. My $0.02 of course.

I won't be adding a breakdown.

As far as trance goes, my tracks won't have any sort of big drawn-out breakdowns.

This is pretty good, though I found it a bit dry in some parts, could use some more reverb/delay to flesh it a bit.

The bass pulses/interludes (example at 4:04 and 4:35) are

a) too loud and should be dimmed very slightly

b) taken out altogether

I'd go for "a", I think they're very creative, would sound good.

The snare sample in the first minute is not too good. Very dry, needs more reverb, or perhaps need to be replaced with something better altogether.

LOVE the funky bass line at 1:01.

This is a great track - well done.
