1. Daft Punk don't need to increase their fame and money as they are already HUGE and have made a fortune through their own endeavors. If you don't believe me go to Europe. If anything I think that It Kanye West that is benefiting from this the most, as he has realized that Electro is where the money is now and is attempting to tap into Daft Punks fan-base.

2. The song still sucks.

Just to clear things up, I have nothing against Kanye as an artist and can respect his talent, i just don't like the music he has been making since the release of College Drop Out.

very true...but who says breaking into new markets is a bad thing?? again, this could actually be a good thing for electronica in america...like we could actually hear more of it...and not just the shitty commercial kind either...it's not like we havent started seeing the effects already...what im saying is that a lot of idiot white kids from the middle of nowhere who are in high school now know who daft punk is...why is that such a bad thing??

Yeah, my previous reply was less condemning of Daft Punk and more sarcastic and agreeing with what you said... Rereading it, I can see how not-obvious that was though haha whoops....

Anyway, as much as I think the song sucks, at the end of the day, if they keep producing stuff on the side that IS good, one song that was shitty won't hurt them in my eyes... At the end of the day, that one song propels them from a group that sells out a 10,000 capacity venue, to a group that has the possibility of selling out a 60,000 venue, so from their point of view, obviously a smart move.... Also, I remember their song "around the world" was being played by everyone and their mother, even hip hop/r&b DJs... I think they've reached extreme commercial status years ago with "one more time".

Sorry, who are you to say how much money or fame they have or should have?

Them being on the grammy's is great! There is no soul selling, its just music. If anyone considers Daft Punk the 'soul' of EDM thats a far streach. Who the heck wouldnt want to be a part of one of the biggest nights of music?

The song is no where near great
Kanye is a great artist w/ an extremely arrogant TV personality
Daft is always great

Just giving my opinion, this is a chat forum after all. But your right its up to them.

No where in any of my posts did i say that i thought that daft punk were " selling their soul". Infact I have no problem with them being on the grammys what so ever. I just wished it had not been a collab with Kanye West.

I do have a problem with the grammy's in general tho, many of the artists who were nominated and won didn't deserve to imo - but thats a different topic altogether.
