OMG YES!!!!!!!!!!! We most definitely are going to get the next installment, and the one after that and the one after that....
Sis and I listen to the third transitions daily. This mix encompasses so many elements of EDM, the deep, the dark and the dirty. It felt like each mix was structured as a crescendo, each bulding on one another, getting deeper with each transition.
Yes we like very much. Thank you Rich for letting us borrow this CD!

Really happy with this one. I have spent lots of time on it with loads of edits and layering of tracks. Please look out for the mini Podcast of this later this week on www.johndigweed.com which will give you a rough idea as well as a chance to win 1 of 10 signed copies. As for the promo mix for the press, this has been edited

John Digweed concludes the first chapter of his Transitions series with a bang
Since its launch Transitions has become one of - if not - the most anticipated releases in the compilation calendar; over the past two years its single disc, twice-yearly format has provided dance music fans a regular, contemporary snapshot of John. Now the first chapter in the Transitions series reaches its conclusion with the highly anticipated fourth volume.
This was perhaps the hardest one yet, says Digweed, The proximity between releases meant each new volume was strongly influenced by its predecessor - as we moved from one to the other they had to relate and make sense.
So, a real challenge. Just how did John go about tackling it?
Ive developed the amount of tracks and layering over the series, he elaborates, And weve taken it to the next level with this latest volume, its the most intense and intrinsic yet, which meant replacements, additions, editing and a lot of time consuming assessments and re-assessments.
Over the course of 22 tracks and 73 minutes John weaves a unique musical thread. From favourites such as Ink & Needle, Guy J and Pig & Dan through to welcome debuts from Henry Saiz, Myers Briggs or Soliquid, all are concisely constructed in the mix to the point where 3 are often playing at anyone time. Infact, due the resulting complexity, John decided to re-structure the trackmark points to better reflect the more developed passages and so 22 records became 10 (see full tracklist below), as he elaborates, In trackmarking this way I am able to highlight the unique qualities of the mix. Whilst it hopefully retains that signature Digweed sound, Ive used modern production techniques to create an album thats unlike anything youll ever hear me do in a club.
And the future? Lets keep it about this latest volume for now, John affirms, Otherwise I think Id be doing it a disservice! We couldnt agree more: Transitions Vol.4 is one of the most original compilations youll hear this year and a fitting finale to the series in its current guise
John Digweed Transitions Vol.4 is out 14th April 2008

The TL looks good, but worried about the mixing and editing. I wish Digweed would stick to what he does best. I really don't want to hear 3-4 tracks playing at the same time, it gets a bit annoying after a while, and sometimes ruins the beauty of one track.

Tracklist looks amazing, really looking forward to hearing this. It makes the layering in T3 look like nothing!

Tracklist looks meh. If enough layering is done, then it will sound like one continuous track. I prefer a bit more dynamacism, like peaks, troughs, and nice builds. Didn't much care for the other 3, so I will wait for reliable reviews before purchasing.
On the other hand, I'm much more interested in the following:
Pappa's comp
Pole Folder's comp
Dave Seaman's comp
Leigh Morgan's Urbantorque comp
Hernan's comp
... and many others that are due to arrive in the not-to-distant future.
