thanks for the reminder. Back in.

Unfortunately too late to pick the blues, first time in history I would have tipped them out of choice too.

Posted by sLiCk_NiCk on Mar-24-2008 21:20:

the umpire goes bang and the hawkers spank the demons. that should have been the headline.

dont really know what to expect this season from the hawks. this week will be a good challenge against the dockers at subiaco. stewie dew...great pick up thus far and those 2 crumbing forwards rioli and stokes look very lively.

good on brad johnson..his a champ and proved it once again.

kane johnson going for a slash on the wall of the st.kilda police station? bit out of character that one.

8 from 8 start for me to

Posted by Philby on Mar-24-2008 23:07:

i got 5 this week, not too bad
go the pies

Posted by PauLie_C on Mar-25-2008 03:57:

i got 7 this week!

bloody adelaide cost me 8!!

so glad we beat those cheating rag heads!
good start to the season, anyone see the St Kilda v Sydney game, one of the most boring games ive seen in ages, Ross Lyon clearly has no idea how to utilise the talent available to him!

Melbourne looked woeful, should have tipped them to win the wooden spoon, they really do remind me of fitzroy in there last year "a dog that is being kicked while its down"

The Essendon game didnt really suprise me, Essendon wont be as bad as we all thought they would be and North are nothing special, will really struggle this year.

Looking forward to playing North and hopefully running them off there legs like essendon did yesterday.

im not taking much out of richmonds win, but last year we would have lost a game like that, its good to see the boys finding a bit more heart!

Hahaha

I can't wait to take that bet off you at the end of the year Paulie

Posted by PauLie_C on Mar-25-2008 04:25:

lol, was it $100 that you wont make the 8???

Posted by Dean Millson on Mar-25-2008 04:32:

Easiest $100 i'll ever make.

And as tribute to your wonderful captain, i'll gladly piss it up against the wall at the end of the year too

Posted by charlee on Mar-25-2008 04:50:

Dear Dean,

Essendon > North Melbourne

Cheers,
Liz and the Essendon Football Club

Posted by Philby on Mar-25-2008 10:11:

of course north melbourne won't be that good this year, the big saveloy isn't there anymore!

Posted by 00soups00 on Mar-25-2008 12:13:

honestly dean after seeing that performance, im not inclined to think that the roos have a hope in hell of reaching the eight, however this week will at least see what they have got.

Something for me to take out of the game on Monday was that N.Thompson was great value up forward in the supercoach/dreamteam comps and im leading the T'addict supercoach (for whatever that means with only 5 TA's entering)

didnt watch much of the saints game, however i'm hoping it was more of a lockup by the swans instead of poor coaching on Lyons behalf... but 4pts is 4pts

Writing off a season after one game?

Surely you're not serious soups. We lost our first 3 last year and finished 3rd by the end of the season. The Bulldogs thumped Geelong round one last year and look what happened to those teams respectively at the end. Surely being a St Kilda supporter you understand that how you start a season can often have no bearing on where you finish it (or visa versa for that matter).

Having said that the roos were disappointing once the tables were turned. We were all over Essendon for the first quarter and a half & would have probably kicked them out of it if we had have kicked straight. I joked at the time that it felt like the '98 Grand Final a little (i think we kicked 10 points 2 goals in a quarter and kept Adelaide in that one until they ran right over the top of us)... Turned out I was right lol. You've got to take your chances when the game is played as fast as it is these days & Essendon certainly did a much better job of that than North.

typical soups comment that one. gotta love em

hard round to tip this weekend. 2050 start on supercoach im happy with

hardest tip definately hawks vs. freo and west coast vs. adelaide

Posted by Fpcookie on Mar-28-2008 05:00:

they are all the rage this season

Posted by PauLie_C on Mar-28-2008 05:05:

there is a difference between supporters and people who just watch them on Tv and cannot name 1/2 the team.

I was born in Kew man, I've never gone for another team, ever. I went off AFL for a few years though, but I'm back into following it again since the last few seasons.

So, get fucked

There is also a difference between those who can afford to waste enough time to learn every stat possible and those who just want to watch it for the game.
