The 81-year-old Castro's overnight announcement ... position[s] his 76-year-old brother Raul for permanent succession ...

The math there makes me wonder who the next real leader of Cuba is going to be. Anyone think this is going to change anything? I don't.

I have to imagine this will amount to something of a slap in the face to the United States.

Despite numerous assassination attempts, Castro makes it to his 80's, and decides then to step down on his own terms.

David > Goliath.

There is nothing to be gained from our continued hostility towards Cuba, except a continuous foreign policy embarrassment.

The Cuban Missile Crisis occurred over 40 years ago. I believe the operative term is "get over it".

Kennedy > all three of em.

Kennedy was primarily responcible for one of the greatest achievements of the United States of America... the Moon Landing, and for that, I am proud of this country's accomplishments. In light of that, I ponder the question, "what have we done lately, except pile on $9 trillion in debt?" --- Surely $9 trillion, could have taken us to Mars and then some. Besides, we are going to need resources from other world's eventually anyways, so we minus well exploit Mars and the Moon for all they are worth...

Great nations are made of ambition & ambitious projects NOT tax cuts.
