I have never had dial up in my life. Never needed internet until broadband was starting to go mainstream....

Only 2300 households in Sweden cannot get broadband today. Soon 100% of Sweden can get broadband.

I remember having to go to the library to search the internet in books.

I've had broadband since 1996. I paid my dial up dues though, when I got my first modem it was the fastest you could get and it was 2400 baud.

I was on dialup till 2005. Nothing else was available.

On 2mb broadband at the moment, wireless hookup. Still no DSL where I am.

When I was in highschool we didn't even have a classroom with computers in it.......we actually had a typing class on type writers.....although they were state of the art type writers.

Same. Now that shit was the bomb. We became skilled at hiding correction tabs inside the machines so we didn't have to remember to bring them to class. During the practice drills we kept waiting for the teacher to slip up and drop an "a" "s" "s" combo, but she was far too clever for that.

till 2004

i downloaded a movie once, it lasted 4 months to download

Posted by verndogs on Feb-21-2008 23:23:

I used it until 1999, then dealt with broadband ever since

I remember back in 97 when I upgraded from a 28.8k to a 56k modem. I remember being amazed on how fast stuff downloaded after the upgrade

Had dial up for ages when I was a student, but finally got cable in 2002. Now using 24Mbit ADSL2+

Posted by Dojomaster26 on Feb-22-2008 00:11:

I remember having 14k on a 486...which we just upgraded to Windows 95!

It took about 30 minutes to grab an 4 MB file, and webpages with more than 3 images crashed the machine...

I'm not THAT old...I just feel like I am sometimes

2400 baud modems. Playing LORD. That was the shit.
