As a matter of fact, why the hell don't North Americans use the metric system? Not only it makes more sense, everyone else uses it!

we tried it back in the 70s (60s?). it didn't work. people freaked out.

but everyone's wrong anyways, because the proper SI unit is the Kelvin.

K = C + 273

*shrug*

I was raised on the Fahrenheit and never really used Celsius until about 5 years ago. Fahrenheit is just so much easier.

True but, given the fact that this is planet Earth we live in, it doesn't make much sense to use a temperature in which the water freezes at 273 degrees.

Water freezes at 0 degree(s?) and boils at 100 degrees, how easier can it get?

Stupid clouds

Posted by Fibonacci on Feb-21-2008 02:39:

im curious if its cool enough to warrant me getting up, getting dressed, going up to the roof, and checking it out

But, it is so mystical... I don't even remember how that Fahrenheit guy came up with these numbers...

I think 100F is the temperature in which African bees mate or something

why doesn't it make sense to use 273? i mean, at 0, time stops. clearly, time doesn't stop @ 273, just water.

i mean, come on

Wait, wait, seriously now, I'm not a "hard" scientist...

... Granted, water does freeze at 273K, but don't atoms and stuff still "move" very subtly?

Water doesn't stop, this thread is heretic!

Posted by nchs09 on Feb-21-2008 02:46:

I dont have a camera... Someone with a bombs.com camera take a good zoomed pic

Posted by Frenchie on Feb-21-2008 02:52:
