Tiesto had releases long before he got famous, under many aliases, your telling me he didnt make those either, or that he stopped making music ?

bullshit. Tiesto doesnt solely produce tracks himself, however he does not pay other people to produce tracks for him and then just slap his name on it.

Tiesto has people producing with him, but he also does a lot of the work.

Of course it's insulting that he would stoop to the level that he has. He really is giving his fans the middle finger with his antics these days. He knows how to mix. He's been doing it for over 20 years and he use to be pretty good at it. It's sad that he's let himself get to the level that he's gotten to... and people still go to see him.... Even that DJ that now tours with him, Kenneth Thomas has gotten sucked into it all.. Kenneth is actually pretty good and has to bare the brunt of Oakey's rotten sets these days. But, he's sucked into that fame that Oakey wields.. He's a fame whore and wants to live that jet set life and not work for it. Humm... he's become the paris hilton of EDM... show up, get fuked up, wave, get paid....lol

Oakenfold is a dumbass, he's just a leech. Tiesto is fresh, he's involved and he's true to the genre. There used to be a video awhile back where Tiesto i remember cried onstage behind the decks, pretty powerful video in my opinion.

I'm not some crazy ass Tiesto groupie, but you gotta pay respect when respect is due.

I couldn't find it just now, it wasn't long at all and it was in the beginning of the video maybe like first 10 seconds. This video was years ago, like 2003 or so. I'll keep looking for it.

I never liked okenfolds music to begin with. I would never go to one of his shows, even if my life depended on it. I've heard that he fake mixed before. Thats just sad...

Narcotics and one song got me into listening to trance and at the time I happened to be attending a party where Oakey was headlining....Changed my life.


Fast forward to 2007, las vegas, Tabu nightclub the man himself played the original mix of Sexy back by Justin Timberlake. Not a remix but the original. I walked out extremely drunk and dissapointed.

The dude used to have skills, never heard anyone mix like him when he was on top of his game, he was flawless. But I think it is time to retire. I've heard he is going deaf and I'm sure after so many years of constantly playing on monster sound systems it has taken its toll.

Best set ever was him at Nocturnal Wonderland 2004 in California when he dropped Amoebassassian - Piledriver....I wept and wept.

I've only heared 1 set of him, and it contained Tiesto - Traffic. So that shit went straight to the carbage for me. I don't really know any of his own productions, except for Ready Steady Go, which I can enjoy.

But on topic:

It would find it hard to believe that he plays prerecorded CD's all the time and gets away with it.

In my perspective you cought him on an off day (don't we all have them?)
and you got bummed by paying to see him that time.

oakenfag uses the same premix everytime. in ultra 2005 he set was before tiesto.... and he "played" traffic.... before tiesto

I've seen/heard of a couple of local DJ's in the bigger clubs in my hometown walk away from the decks and it would "magically" mix in to the next song. I never thought I'd ever hear of a big name DJ put on a mix CD. It makes my blood boil. People pay big money to see these guys and realistically a 5 year old kid could put on a mix CD.

the only oakenfold song i ever heard was that killer pussy cat song, or whatever it was called

And about the Oakenfold debate....I highly respect him and I'd be bummed out if I payed to see him put on an elite performance and it was brought to my attention that he was using a mix CD....but I'd go on with life....

Edit:And to Krispy Kreme, that sucks that you had to be exposed to that on multiple occasions, I'd never go to exclusively see him again if I were in your shoes (or I would be near the front of the stage/dj booth with my back turned to him during his set! ) In the end you went looking for the man and instead found a mouse....

Personally, I think it only gives more room for us aspiring DJs to break into the game.

As for Oakey? Last set I enjoyed from him was in 04. He has gone downhill. But you know what? Oh well. He's past his time. Big fucking deal. If it wasn't for him in the 90's I'd NEVER have gotten into this kind of music, so let the guy be. He'll probably give it up shortly anyway I'd guess. Maybe hes depressed? He's old, and didnt he divorce recently? WHo knows. Who cares. People still enjoy him, not me but others apparently do or he wouldnt still be playing.

here�s my opinion though, i think he should quit mixing and stand up for his legacy focusing in promoting the music he loves by looking for some new talent, i mean by how i look at oakenfold for my point of view, you could tell he�s arrogant, and i support the people that complaint, cause we are putting all we have on sharing what we like the most, so in a way im kind off ofended by him, cause i feel like hes making fun of it. i don�t know just my thought
