I was supposed to go to okemo this weekend with some friends from college, but i wound up getting into a minor car crash (hit the curb in the snow and blew out my wheels and the passenger airbag) so can't exactly afford that..

right now, this place mountain creek in new jersey? never been there, but apparently they have snow? lol we'll see

I didn't think it was that bad.

Hell of a lot better than the first 10 tracks I made on FL studio.

Keep plugging away.

for people with fruity loops! (even if you hate it, this was lol-worthy for me)
open it, and in the browser goto packs -->HipHop-->and click on HIP_Snare_3 so it plays, and listen to it well.

They are also using HIP_Hat_3 and HIP_Kick as well. i dont they even processed them either. play them while the song is playing and you can't hear any difference at all.

oh trust me
i know
when my friend showed me this song i was like you know what? i bet i can recreate this beat in about....5 minutes
and i was right
even the fucking chord progression is boring/cliche

last year i was bored and stoned one night so i bet my roommate i could make an eminem beat in 5 minutes. then after 4 minutes of work i had to take the last minute to dumb it back down a bit because it was too complex. the laziness put out, even in really major artists sometimes, astounds me.

see that the paradox of music (or art in general)
simplicity lends itself to the greatest stuff. all the 'greatest' songs anyone will name will all boil down to just one amazing riff, or a really really simple but catchy beat or w/e

sigh

regardless, i did this in the last couple of hours

started i think about 5 hours ago, working off and on

Posted by Enigmatic XTC on Feb-24-2008 07:54:

about the op:
is that your remix of my body?
i quite liked that if it was. some of it gets a little monotonous, but overall it was pretty nice.

true, but there is a difference between simple and lazy. simplicity is much more difficult than it sounds.

and that track sounds quite nice as well. i like the mix between soft and abrasive.

I remixed the version that came with FL. Very little of it is my own stuff. I learn alot by reverse-engineering some of the stuff that it came with... I just put that up for S&G

At least yours are eight bars long. Most of mine are four.

Liked your acid track, though.

Posted by montana on Feb-24-2008 22:24:

i have some of them here gunk, crro, sidel, jubb.
most of them rough but still on point.

Looks like you spent more time taking that ridiculous picture of yourself than the music. You'll be famous in no time!

What do you recommend then?

If I'd been working on my music for months or years, I might be insulted. Consider I picked it up only a week or two ago, I think it's decent.

And the picture is pretty good too. It sounds more like you are a poor judge of what is good and/or ridiculous or not.
