Yes, but it is being packaged with the original release. Often you will see tools thrown onto a vinyl. You aren't saying they should print another record with just the tool now are you?

And jesus, as if there wasn't already a ridiculous shit/quality ratio on beatport, in the DJ Tool section it is fucking disgraceful.

Label it as "techno" or "tech house" = you get better sales than having it labeled as a "dj tool". It's just marketing. Besides "dj tool" is such a vague thing, tools can be divided into genres too. If I wanted to browse beatport for tools that fit my musical style, it'd be a bit hard because I guess that section is full of hip-hop and breakbeat shit.

If I started moaning about every track that is poorly classified in Beatport I'd be here all day.

my watson skills are elementarily filled with hopps and barley today. I misread. Still that being said its a question of marketing Rob. Many people who shop there have no clue what to do with a tool, or even visit the section. It is a question of visibility. (see: $$$$)

I take it you mean to say that your idea of genre doesn't jibe with Beatport's, which is something completely different that deciding what is, and what is not a "DJ tool."

I think that classification is far less subjective than any other.

That's fine and well - but I just want to be clear that my understanding of both your point and noikee's is simply that Beatport is in the business of tricking people into spending their money on shit they didn't really want in the first place (which we've all known is the case by shear number of tracks we've purchased that had "OK sounding" samples and turned out to be utter shit).

If that's where we're at, of course I have to concede the point - that doesn't mean I think it's ok, which of course brings us back to the "If I whine about everything wrong about Beatport..." statement again, which is really no different than playing the "See no/hear no/speak no evil" card. I've got no problem with other people taking that line, I just choose not to.
