I had a great time. Great music, great sets. I even enjoyed the DJ outside....
Downside... People are generally just getting more and more mean to others. I dealt with hard asses pushing people, and security yelling at people in their faces to move.
Funnyside. I was watching two coupels of washing machines next to each other, and the bumped heads... it fuckin rocked... at the time i felt bad, but when they were ok... FTW that was awesome!
VANGUARD: in the cold, shitty weather months... TENT THE BACK!!!! Please
my nipples were getting hard, and Bob Mortamedi was all over me.... wtf! hahahaha

OMG!!!!!! how do i even begin!!!!! as most of you know i have been waiting for this night for about 2 years and thank you to dave dean and giant for making it happen!!!!!
i was in heaven the whole night, you couldn't sand blast the smile off my face if you tried! i don't listen to much trance anymore and rarely go to trance dj shows but john has me mesmerized everytime and i would never miss a set of his!!! the pairing was complete perfection and the way they set up the order of those 2 worked out perfectly!!!!!
was nice to dance to some prog house from bamaca and keep it a bit more mellow before CL and john came in and leveled the place!!!! CL had a nice set but you all know i was waiting for john and the anticipation was nearly killing me. thursday's set just wet my appetite and i was ready for the full serving of what john can do to a club! and on funkion 1 !!!!!!! i was in complete heaven and john's set was complete perfection. thank you ruben for posting a bunch of the track lists. and i love that junkie xl and sasha track second track in and then he played that track from braum strokers dracula that just sent chills up and down my spine!!!!! i looked out over the crowd and the whole club was in a frenzy!!!! well that was the case the whole entire time john was on. i have never seen vanguard that packed at 3:45 am ever!!!! it was john's night, period!!!!
as all of you could see john has so much passion for his music and feeds off the reaction of the crowd and his happiness comes from laying down a great set and giving people a fantastic party!!!!! he and i talked in length about that very thing saturday night and as you notice he gets just as excited if not more for the next track coming up than the crowd although i know the crowd was going crazy for every track that he dropped. it made me feel so happy watching john being received so well and loved by all the fans. i feel he is the most underrated dj out there, not by his fans but by the industry and he doesn't even let that bother him. he is so humble and passionate and that shines through every time he steps up behind the decks.
as someone said to me saturday night, don't ask sarah about a joof set, you'll never get a bad review. well, i know that this past saturday had to be the set of all time for me seeing him!!!!! everything just fell into perfect place and for me it was just perfect!!!! it was so great seeing so many TA's and meeting new ones!!! i'm really bad with names so forgive me if i don't list them. of course mecca i'm so glad you and your lovely lady made it down for this set!!! seeing you twice in a month has been so nice. there was such love for the djs radiating throughout the club and just looking out over the crowd was just an amazing sight to see everyone giving as much as they were getting!!!!!
CL and john are 2 of the nicest guys in the business. and they were so gracious and took tons of pics with everyone and stayed late and took group shots and talked with people. i just couldn't have asked for a better night. i couldn't stop talking about his set on sunday to anyone who would listen!!!!
again so great seeing so many TA's and seeing how happy everyone was dancing to their sets. sorry i didn't get to dance with too many of you, i don't love huge crowds and so during john's set i was up on the stage dancing my ass off!!!! i had room to just go crazy
just an fyi, looks like the pairing will be back in SF in about 3 months so now we have that to look forward to and of course i'll be making that journey up there for that 
amazing night!!!!!!!!!!!!! just perfect.

So much fun saturday. Can we go back please? I don't want to be working right now. J00F and CL tore that place up. I'm not the biggest psy fan but between Thursday and Saturday night, maybe I'm coming around. Had a ton of friends there and met a bunch of new ones. I thought the crowd was fine for the most part but I was pretty drunk so maybe I just didn't give a damn. Music could have been louder though.
And damn Bob, my nipples are tender today. Next time, more gentle please

Awesome combo, wish they will make it to the bay area.
Awesome, wonderful and amazing are a few words I would use to describe the entire night at Vanguard. We got there at 9:00 since we didn't get our hard tickets in time (thanks to sucky Groove Tickets and so our sweet Blowzo put us on his guest list) and didn't leave until after it was over. CL was unbelieveable and Joof was also incredible. I was in awe all night long and didn't want to leave the floor for anything! I was hoping that CL would get to come back out and spin with Joof or something like that towards the end but I knew that was highly unlikely to begin with. It was great to see some TA's again and meet some new TA's too. We totally loved that since it wasn't so packed like it usually is when PvD or ATB or AvB comes to Vanguard, so we were in front of the stage all night and actually got to dance and enjoy the music without being smooshed by overcrowding!!! YAY! It was such a wonderul time that we just can't wait until Danny Howells now as we haven't got to see him yet either
What are you guys talking about? Bob didn't irritate my nipples at all! He really knows how to treat a man imo.
funny thing is, it appears many others were standing around thinking FUCK, why is vanguard whack and closing at 4am. Another 2 hours of tag team would have been EPIC.
I was just thinking around 3am how i didnt want this to end. So frustrating that with all the damn trance acts right now, none of them can play it proper as these guys do. Trance just doesnt get better then what it was on sat. Some thick groovy tech stuff leading into prog/psy/full on shit JOOF was dropping.
I think it was great that CL played B4 John, it appears that they turned it up a notch or two once he got on. I think alot of people thought JOOF might clear the floor a bit once he got on, but NOBODY left (which made getting the cars from VALET a nightmare i was there til 5am!!)
But it is good that John got to showcase his talent to that crowd, i think he exceeded everybody's expectations, which should earn him a more frequent visit to the funktion 1
God I hope it earns him more frequent visits! Gypsy once you get a date let me know so I can book my airfare and head up there good excuse to visit my familia and see J00F and CL again together. I really wish vanguard closed around 6, I didn't want the night to end and J00F was just pouring it on.
