HAHAHAHHA, lmao !!! you should of told him NO,, i am irish !!!
word of advice to everyone.. just say no officer yes officer.. try to be as calm as possible and you won't have any troubles.. I think Toronto cops are the worst.. compared to cops in the suburbs.. I mean u can start a conversation with a non-city cop but if u try to start a conversation with a toronto cop.. he will be like " you see this badge?? do you know who u are talking to? "

of fucking course he'll get mad, thats a way of answering a simple question?
He is maybe trying to lower the stress level and spark a conversation.
If you had been polite, he may have replied something of that sort: "I have been three years ago and its a beautiful place" or " my wife is turkish, nice people"
whatever it is, his tone was probably neutral and you "poked" the bear by replying rudely like orko said earlier.
friggin kids

The best thing you can do with cops in my personal experience is play innocent/dumb and act like you will never do it again... I got away with so many speeding/not stopping at a stop sign violations with this....
Posted by sawgr on Mar-05-2008 19:43:
in my experience, if you look at those people you know who went on to become police offiers, 90% of them are your typical high school bully who really just need some kind of authority to help them sleep at night
of course this isn't always the case, but just what i noticed
sometime ago i got stopped and interrogated because i was "walking too fast" after buying some orange juice.

I've got kind of a love/hate relationship with cops, but overall I've had nothing but positive experiences. So long as you don't mouth off, its generally good. Oh, and two guys I used to work with both have their degrees in computer science, and one of them is with Metro Toronto Police now, while the other is with Durham region, so not all are mere high-school graduates.

I don't have that experience at all. I know 5 or 6 guys who became cops after high school. All of them were down to earth good guys. I'm glad people like them actually became cops.
Its funny though, I would never have expected any of them to go that route.

Its a 50/50 I once didnt get a ticket for missing a stop sign when I saw a cop car coming the opposite way from me .... He told me how I missed the stop sign...I said I was more worried about my speed at that time and totally forgot about the stop sign when I saw his car coming from the opposite side.
He didnt give me a ticket....It was during the day as well LOL
I have a friend she is a model she gets away with speeding ,running red lights and all kinds of small traffic ticket related matters....But I guess she acts really well to play innocent and have some kind of cute story to back it up with and always gets away with it.
Its all depends on the COP and how you look like
I guess.

Yeah too bad it was nothing like that
Maybe if had asked me after telling me why I was stopped, not as the second question right after asking for my license lol. His tone was definetly not neutral and I read his last name on his shirt after he asked me, which sparks other controversy that I don't feel like getting into. Anyways, I really don't care what happened, after the cop gave me the tickets I said thanks, shook his hand and said Merry Christmas lol. Mind you this was at like 3:00am no cars around what so ever and I made a left turn into a street where no left turns weren't allowed, it wasn't a one-way, if I made a u-turn then they would have pulled me over for making a u-turn haha I needed to go East lol
I am not an asshole to cops, and I've dealt with cops many times at places I've worked at and I have friends that I play soccer with who are cops. Just some cops love the power and its normal with any job you get in which you have power over others...

Me and cam(phlog) got pulled over like 2 weeks ago doing 120km/hr in a 90, in his roommates (platipus) car with about 20 empty cases of beer so the car reeked. We were really polite to the cop and he said "you were nice so i'm gonna let you go" and we got off with warning
..... there not all bad!

Ok so a couple of my friends were driving down to Ithica NY for this fraternity party called slope day. When we got to the US border they took our passorts and asked us all our names and citizenship. One of the guys in the back is name David Read Smith, he goes by his middle name Read. The Customs guy asked him to repeat it and then an alarm when off repeating ALERT. The customs officer then asked for me to place the car in park and hand over the keys. After I did this I look around the car and honestly there must have been 8 customs officers all with their guns pointed squarely at my head. 2 officers on each side of the car. The customs officer then handed me back the keys and instructed me to park the car in a garage under escort of the 8 officers. After we park, the 4 of us are arrested and have our wallets and passports confiscated. After sitting in a cell for 30-40 minutes an officer comes back in with our stuff and says "your free to go". I was pissed off at this point and demanded to know why we were incarcerated. He said that our friend David Smith poped up on the FBI 10 most wanted list. But there must be 1000000 David Smith's in America so go figure. Interesting start to the trip thats for sure. Ever since then I have been super paranoid everytime I cross (and I go like every 2-3 weeks).
On a side note, I was also pulled over going across on my way to Cleveland when I told them I was going across to go to a rave. Definatly was having a blonde moment that day!!!

kinda reminds me of coming home from a red wings game back in late high school with my buddy bill and his dad... billy got a bit of a stomach virus and was puking in joe louis.. and drinking.. we got to customs to get back into canada, the custmos officer asked if we had anything to declare... billy goes " one sec" opens up the back door and pukes his guts out...." his dad still bugs him about it

They abusing this power in Canada????
Looking at other countries I would say CANADA is getting it easy, infact VERY easy...
Eastern European cops demand bribes, beat you in your kidneys(cause there is no bruises from kidney beatings, thus you cant prove it unless you start pissing blood), also some of the cops are mad racist and they will discriminate agaisnt you and make you pay for nothing...
So please, Canadian cops are wussbags with an odd pig in there...
