As I stated in my last post, it's legal in some European countries, Belgium and the Netherlands being the two I'm sure about.

And no, it's not like incest at all. Totally baffled as to why someone would make that kind of comment lol I can only hope you're joking.

They meant that the euthanasia and incest would both be legal there but neither one right...

And incest is wrong however I agree with euthanasia under certain circumstances...

I also highly doubt that euthanasia is legal even in Oregon...

That has got to be the most deranged looking depiciton of that leprechaun I have ever seen.

Look at that.... he looks like the midget bastard child of Sarumon from Lord of the Rings lol.

Alright.... gimme a bowl now.... me wanty me frosted lucky charms.

there is NO lighter side to it
the man is dying, he has terminal cancer, and the death is unlikely to be pain free

It's fascinating to me how uppity people get about death.

Why not? Because it makes people uncomfortable? I just think it's interesting how people get so sensitive/defensive/whatever when it comes to death and dying...as if those are the only emotions a person should feel about it.

Posted by Binder_Dundat on Mar-16-2008 23:36:

People get sick and die. At least this fuc ker had a good run for a while.

I wouldn't say it makes me uncomfortable
but I just thought for a second how crap it must feel to know that your days are pretty much numbered, and here are some idiots make insensitive comments

Aren't everyone's days numbered, when you look at the big picture?

yeah but not like that it's not the same having an illness like that or happily trotting through life thinking you'll go till you're 80, you know what I mean?

Posted by Frenchie on Mar-16-2008 23:55:

It's not being uppity. When you have cancer...those jokes kinda suck.

Yes, I know what you mean...but that's not how I view life, or death.

I beg to differ. I know for a fact that many sick/terminally ill people appreciate humor, even of this nature.

Good for you.

I can joke about it, but some things you just don't say.
