fair..
He was a great entertainer, and had some quite catchy songs.
hardly any entertainers put on a show like he did anymore.
singing, dancing, pedophelia.
not even cirque du soleil gives you all of that.

Originally posted by SMC I never said i don't like it, but as a matter of fact i mostly don't. I don't like the sound of his voice, i don't connect with his music and i don't find there being anything remarkable about it irrespective of my personal taste and preferences.

you said he is 'overrated'.. so who you think is better than him and should be rated above him?

the best:

I'd probably agree that Michael Jackson is a bit overrated. He made some brilliant pop music in the late 70s and early 80s, but almost everything after then has been crap. Furthermore, most of this best stuff was neither written nor produced by him, so his credit is mainly as a great singer and dancer. All well and good, but someone like Justin Timberlake can sing and dance well too, and he isn't hailed like MJ is. A lot if it has to do with nostalgia.

Originally posted by SYSTEM-J Your facts are wrong. Michael Jackson has not sold more albums than anyone else. That would be either Elvis or The Beatles, who have sold so many records nobody is even sure of the exact number any more, although both are in the region of a billion, and rising. Additionally, it's your logic that's flawed. The assertion that "nobody has entertained people like MJ" is subjective and unverifiable, and the fact that he sold a lot of records is merely the popularity appeal, which everyone knows is flawed all the way through. If the popularity appeal logic was correct, Britney Spears would be objectively superior to every electronic music act ever, on account of having sold more records. And so on and so forth. In short: shut the fuck up about logic, kid.
Definatley appreciate him. revolutionary for pop.
Personally though i think his sister janet was under rated. Some of her songs were much better produced then michael's.
the full version of bad.. i havent seen this one in a while (hope it wasnt posted before)
