I suck at reviews. So heres some Depeche Mode Lyrics instead:

Its only when I lose myself in someone else('s mix)
That I find myself
I find myself
Its only when I lose myself in someone else('s mix)

That I find myself
I find myself

Thanks for the "deep", it's been too long since i got this hyped about a genre i almost forgot.

Im definitely gonna keep Her.

Actually the rest of the set wasn't my cup of tea, bit too many jazzy influences like saxophone leads all over the place. Still, worth downloading.

Deep House.... lushness. Thanks so much, awesome mix!

what do you mean?

nothing in regards to the mix, just i felt the ending dragged and the vibe was just a little too kitschy for my taste.

i'll take an ending like that after a 6 hour set in a club after i've had a few to drink but sitting here in my studio it just kind of didn't have the same effect.

those kinds of endings are great when the lights go on and everyone smiles at each other

Nice one, on it and shit.

Big ups for playing the Creamer & K mix of "Till There Was You", Gabriel & Dave Dresden absolutely butchered that track. I've been hammering the Mazi dub again as well, great stuff.

Posted by Coup on Mar-15-2008 17:54:

awesome. had it on solid from start to finish while home alone busy doing something and it was fab to have on in the background.

Good mix! I listened to the first 2h for now and I prefer the secon hour which flows very well. What's the track @ 1h15 ? I remember Laurent Garnier playing it in his radio sets around '97.

Loved this; I'm excited to see so much deep house on here in the past few weeks. Great long mix for lounging around or chilling; I'm definitely going to play this for some friends of mine when they come over. Not a huge fan of the last few vocal tracks or the sax-y bits before that, but loved everything else. Awesome stuff, man.

Great set Montana! I'm just giving it another listen now. That second track is so awesome

Lovely set and a wicked track selection!! Just what i needed to bring light into the darkness i call everyday life right now!

Loving the deepness and smoothness all the way through and good to see lots of my favs (i'd already forgotten about) in there.

Haha, you know Reapers' life isn't just all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows.. darkness is always there at least glimpsing at the end of the tunnel.

Looks awesome, now the only problem is getting the time to listen to it...

i liked about 50% of this mix, which is a lot more than I thought I would
well done

Spent the morning finally giving this a good listen while working on some homework and have to say it's inspired me to take a long hard look back at deep house - a genre I had kind of burned myself out on. Really, really well mixed - the only genuine criticism I have is that for one reason or another towards the end of the mix (last half hour maybe?) I kind of just felt like it was noodling around a bit much and lost the solid flow it had before that. Not that it was too particularly off-kilter, it just didn't seem to go down as silky smooth as the first half.

All in all, well in - always love hearing sets from you Tony

I really appreciate every thing about this set. I've listened to it many times yet I often feel almost as if I'm hearing it for the first time. It's refreshing with a very seductive feel to it. Dark 6am on a rainy spring day...tingly, awakening, sun peeking, warming. Good for belly dancing, too. Gold star! Thanks for sharing, Tony.

Finally got to listen to this in full (only two months late, but better late than never).

Apart from a few meandering sax/rhodes-moments I could've been without, this mix stays out of coffee table muzak land all the way through, which is commendable in itself. Especially the first half is the kind of atmospheric ultra-smoothness that I really like, and the ending with Moodymann and Nicole Willis is superb. Could only hear a few mixing snafus as well, which adds to the overall smoothness.

However, 3 hours of one sub genre is a bit much, and I sorely miss some more variation, despite the knowledge that this was a themed mix after a certain genre. It's kinda hard to get a proper structure going when you're sticking to a genre as thoroughly mellow and downtempo as deep house is. Because of this, I'm not sure if I'll sit through the entire mix again that many times in the future.

Nevertheless, it's good to have some proper deep house again now that the tag gets thrown around so carelessly these days.

ye, that whole record is brilliant, i used subway to bridge out of the maw remix of gus gus but it could easily hold at it on it's own. pheedback is my favourite on the ep but i couldn't seem to work it in to the treacklist
