and when I think about it, I don't understand the reasoning behind it at all. If the club wants to stay open later, what's the harm? Won't the people who stay inside sober up more the longer it's open after last call?

Exactly

People come in very late in clubs

They drink hardcore from 1 to 3... and they have to leave and use their car

Very dangerous on the roads etc

But it's the law

Some bars in Montreal are pushing to have this law changed... but alcool is a very strict and controlled buisness, it won't be easy.

those things scared the crap out of me the first time i was at aria. i was dancing away and all of a sudden i get this burst of light shine up at me from the floor.
