Yes, I know. I was stating that many EDM producers use ableton to make music, not G&D.

ah, in other news...seems like converting to .aiff fixed one glitched but now there's another.

god damn audacity....

exporting to .AU file now (format Audacity uses in it's caching)

Sasha uses a shit load of VSTs live and they are all mapped to his controller.

ok so this isnt a sound card youre talking about (m audio quattro). but i never knew of this product (i dont know much about hardwares) but its a nice cheap addition to my setup. i rarely burn songs on cds(being lazy and not djing much anymore) but once a while feel like messing around. but to think about it, for another $100 i can get the uc33e which will probably be much better.

another problem i have is when i play some songs on ableton, i hear cracking noises that arent actually in the track. these noises come randomly and rarely, im guessing its because of my sound card (my soundcard is the original that came on the motherboard). could it be anything else or is that the reason why? i have a decent PC amd athlon x2, 2gb ram, 10,000 rpm hard drive.

I used to have issues in Ableton 6 where every once in awhile it'd start playing tracks distorted....thought it might have been my quattro but it has yet to happen once in upgrading to 7...which makes me think that ableton 6 just had issue dealing with some soud drivers.

ok... about your set: its alright but the only thing that i can tell is youre mixing the songs alittle too late meaning the song is dying and then the other one is starting. you either didnt know the tracks too well before mixing or else werent much in the mood.

Yeah, I think I pretty much said that when I said I was warping them in ableton (as in I just got most of them and bringing it into
Ableton for the first time). Think I even mentioned something about "longer" tracks being in there...as in that I played them at length quite a bit ( not to mention that fact that there's a whopping 18 tracks in two hours, three of them being in the last 12 minutes or so. lol)

Do agree in general that when I play certain types of tracks that I can let the transitions be toooo mellowed-out because of where I do the transition at...even had a couple people give this feedback regarding the first 40-45 minutes of my set at Ten15 last month. Think just that more of the solid opening sets I have heard in time tend to start of mellow with the transitions being relaxed and as the set builds up so do the energy presented in the transitions...so I am doing it by instinct, even though I myself am not a HUGE fan of that...but in this case, more of me just working on the warping as I play and make sure that things are on point throught the full intros and outros of each track.

I just got most of the tracks Saturday evening and didn't have a chance to touch them again until last night! You can even hear me making adjustments to the warp throughout the set if you know how messing with it can effect the sound.

Trying to bring back setting up loops with some transitions. I practiced a lot of that months ago and liked how a lot of it sounded when done right but got away from it as I bought a TON of tracks in the last few months and have been working so much on just warping and making sure I could do transitions with them that I haven't really had the time to focus on setting up potential loops. I used loops in a few spots in this set. One is blatantly obvious. :-p

Thanks for the feedback!! It's rare to solid feedback around here. :-p

Just dload and tune in 1st time at low volume cuz it late at night. NOT BAD!

Music Selection +
except what'sup with the last track???
Temple +
No trainwreck +
Sound quality recording +

For none dj can hardly tell

I love it when you kick in Summer Channel ft. Patrick Scott - Undertow - Dirtyhertz & Taj remix
Deep Voice, J.Scott G remix and Oracle's Man Overboard remix's not bad either

-try to simplify your lappy & setup make it easier to mix.
-may need to rearrange tracks for better flow, try track 1+3, track 2+4
break it down to record 2 set.
-some part looses it momentum probably you mix in late, but not unbearable.
-more practice lazy dj, on the double!!!

Read my tracklist regarding the last track...it was a joke, lol. Just a track I heard on Energy 92.7fm and was like WTF!? CHEESE DOG! lol

When I move up the transitions 4 or 8 bars in the first few tracks, it moves along much better...personally don't have any issues with how the tracks are lined up (that's not to say there's no room for improvement...there always is!)...but now that I've used it the way it's setup, the goal would be not to use those tracks in that particular order or slapped up against each other in any way...of course it may happen (and I'll let it if there's some transition I really like)...so next time I get around to playing them, it might be a part of something tht has better flow or worse...remains to be seen!

I will def see how it goes when playing it in the order you suggest!

The set overall goes through a wide range of stuff and very wide BPM for a short time range. I do think I need to have two seperate mixes focusing on two seperate ranges/styles.

And would love the challenge of someone saying make a mix that I'd play as an opening set for a some DJ that I respect...cause that's where the challenge is really going to be in the end...doing good opening sets, if I ever get the chance, and there can be two seperate trance headliners to choose from...but how the opener should specifically play could be different for each! And one thing you can always expect from me would be to really try to play an opening set that pleases the crowd and respects the headliner...I've flat out seen too many opening sets in the past couple of years where the opener plays with little-to-no regard of the headlner and his/her style and it makes me sick. And while a lot of people play nice, on the side I know 100% that I am not the only person who feels this...in fact I know most of the people who play nice are well...just playing nice...I just happen to have a big mouth (which does cause issues sometimes, I will admit)...I hope I never have to shove my foot in my mouth in the case I utterly fail if I ever get the chance lol.

Thanks for the feedback!
