Congratulations.

I can understand the apprehension towards crim. law... on of the reasons I didn't go forward after getting into Osgoode... well that and the price tag.

Good luck with the thesis too!

Do it...!! seems to me lie it'd be highly interesting. Were I to wanna lawyer-it-up, i think id like to head in that direction too.

Even in the my professional, environental accounting is a facinating field if you ask me.

one day when/if im working in the city, id love to enter a more niche asecpt of my field like that!

sacrificing one summer is sooooo worth it when you'll be partying it up in future summers with your wallet full......trust me i've too had to sacrifice a lot of parting....

Shit, how did I miss this?

Congratulations Lisa! A few more years and I'll be paying your bills!

What kind of law do you hope to practice?

Congratz!
I have a friend just finishing up her 3rd year in Windsor Law. She loved it and made tonnes of friends.
If you have any questions or concerns, I would be happy to send them off to her
... in the meantime... GO PARTY!

Posted by Dr Satan on Mar-15-2008 16:13:

congrats

environmental law is a good idea... with all the concern over global warming you can prolly rake in a lot of money over the next 30 years.

Trust me, I known the meaning of sacrifice. Every year, due to my commitment to school I've had to sacrifice more and more, most notably visiting all of my good friends in Toronto (and thereby partying as well). I know it's worth it though, and that's why I continue to do it. Friends and parties will always be there (and they have been extremely supportive might I add!) That's why I decided to spend last summer in Europe. I knew it was going to be my last chance to do it for many years, so I wanted to go with a big bang! I'll be in school next summer as well (my program goes through the summer after first year), and then at least the following two summers, articling.

You probably missed this from the first page

Originally I planned on doing criminal law, but I don't think I could handle being a criminal defense lawyer. I still really enjoy criminal law though, and I have connections with the crown's office here - so I am looking into become a crown prosecutor.

The other area of law I'm beginning to get more and more interested in is environmental law. So that's an option.

Who knows though, my feelings may change completely when I get into the program and realize that I enjoy a different type more than these two.

Is she doing the LLB program, or the JD/LLB program with Detroit Mercy too (I'm in that one). Glad to hear good things about the law school though. I'll keep you in mind if I have any questions or concerns. I appreciate that.

Once again....thank you everyone for the congratulations. I don't think I've ever been this happy about one of my accomplishments ever!
