This is top stuff, Mike. The mixing for the first couple of tracks was unreal- I heard the vocal for My Time Is Yours come in before I realised the first track was over- and throughout it's seamless. A lot of focus on breakbeat stuff early on, which is a different side of PVD to the one I'm used to.

Again, I'm still surprised how different your take on PVD is to the one I knocked out, and yet it's still high quality from start to finish. It definitely shows how much quality is in his discography where you can have such variation without using a bad track.

Agreed on the use of breakbeat early on. I loved it! Had me dancing in my chair, lol.

Once again great mix, Mike. I share the sentiments with System-J that the mixing throughout this was spectacular. Something I strive for in my own mixes and hope to someday get there. This mix will remain a benchmark for me, when trying to improve on my own skills behind the decks.

New Linksors? PLS?

The link still appears to be working What error are you getting?

Verry good track selection. I've only heard about half of those tracks before, but the rest was really good also. Nice flow overall, good work.

I really enjoyed this mix. A lot of tracks I didn't know, and a side of Paul I haven't imagined before - which sounds surprisingly nice. Great mixing too.

@System-J: thanks for sharing this one after all. Taking into account that you only mixed it for yourself, I was expecting much worse mixing
I like the intro track a lot, Avenue, and always loved Forbidden Fruit. I told you I was curious about Salt Tank's remix of Beautiful Place, but I gotta say I was expecting more from it.

I really like it. It's got a really good drive to it, and although initially it sounds like it's going to be a routine piano-lead anthem, it turns into a pumping acid number. I don't know another trance record that does that.

No Effective Force - Punishing the atoms (Paul Van Dyk Remix)! Still need to hear this tune, thought you may have included it.
Downloading this though, looks top notch.

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Mar-26-2008 02:13:

Yea, it's one of my favourites. But it's also approx 140bpm and just about out of key with everything else I chose to play. It just wasn't the type of mix to include it in.

Let me know what you think though.

bomb ass set!
PVD for an angel was one of my first and will always be one of my favorite tunes.
still listening to the mix but I'm totally tuned in thanks for sharing this one.

Sure, why not?

Hopefully you've managed to make him sound better than he has.

File temp unavailable?

Posted by eRRaTiK on Mar-26-2008 18:02:

Downloaded just fine here. Try again or try another browser?

Second track and I'm IN. Lovin' the cruisy prog/breaks.

What I'd give to hear PVD playing this sort of stuff in one of his upcoming gigs.

EDIT: 18:30 in... I'm dancing woooo!

Posted by Lunar Phase 7 on Mar-26-2008 18:14:

Yeah just restarted firefow and it worked? Was weird error.

Anyways sick mix so far!

Posted by eRRaTiK on Mar-26-2008 19:22:

Hey Mike it's not shit.

*copy & paste somebody else's previous comments here about this being another side of PVD that I haven't heard*

Nicely done

Together We Will Conquer Face To Face!!!!

Been ages since i heard that one. Thanks for the memories Mike - Out There And Back was one of my first real EDM buys.
WTF has happened to our favourite DJs since then. Bloody shame

This is the biggest pile of wank I've ever had the displeasure of listening to. Great taste, you brainless cretin.
