I think he meant Gin as in the liquour, Peter it's actually good for you, doctors used to use it for anesthetic, and medicine

You can say that about almost any hard alcohol. I'd actually use vodka instead of gin for medicinal purposes - I think it's cleaner.

There's a few different recipes for it, the simplest way I can think of is:

1 shot of gin
1 splash of pine apple juice
1 splash of lime juice
dash of grenadine

shake in a shaker with ice pour it out in a sling glass (those tall straight glasses with ice)

top with a donut (1/2 shot) (pouring a circle with a spout from the bottle) of cherry brandy/cherry liqueur

If you find Gin tastes like pine then you need to go with a better gin. Try Beefeater, Bombay Saphire or my personal favorit Tanqueray. There are better ones out there but anything better then tanqueray is going to cost you a lot more and it's really a deminishing rate of return at that level.

Personally, I've always liked it best neat or with ginger ale.

Party Drink: 90 Proof Vodka & Red Bull
Chill Drink: Colorado Bulldog
Shot: Patron
Girly Drink: Chocolate Martini (shhh, dont tell anyone)
Overall Fav: Jaeger & Red Bull (not a jaegerbomb, but a full glass, probably two-thirds jaeger topped w/red bull, mmmm)

Beefeater tastes exactly like pine? I took a shot of that, and regretted it after. Horrible taste.

Hmm, I never got pine from Beefeater, perhaps your pallet is more refined. Try Tanqueray.

I'm guilty of loving gin and tonic with lemon, but not in large quantities. If I'm drinking a lot it rye and coke or rye and ginger.
