Nobody has had any trouble downloading my sets, so i don't see what your problem is. Having your your own website in NOT CHEAP!! first of all, if you want to do one for me free of charge, i'd like to see that

Cheers

I coded my (very basic) website myself, and my hosting costs a whopping $3 a month!!!

It's a grey area, but for the most part, people see it as promotion of the music, and the people putting the sets up aren't charging/profiting from them.

Whoa whoa whoa. Let's not get too self-righteous here. In some sense, posting your DJ mix is indeed a gift to any interested listener. You (and even I) are sharing hours of hard work and it is frustrating to hear someone complaining about something as trivial as our choice of hosting service......

However, none of us are superstars here. No one here has "made it" and can honestly say their listeners need them more then they need their listeners. We all really want people to listen to our mixes, and we really have a responsibility to make that as easy as possible. I think it's not really in our best interests to be this mean to a potential listener's gripe.

I agree with this guy. When I upload a mix natuarally I want as many people to listen to it as possible, and the easier I can make it for people the better...

With the number of mixes on here, it makes sense to try your best to make your mix as appealing as possible. While it is great being able to get all of these mixes for free, listening to a mix and giving feedback takes time and is all part of what keeps this forum ticking over.

So if uploaders should be expected to make more of an effort to make mixes easier to download, someone should be pointing out that listeners should be making more of an effort to comment and give feedback.

agreed to an extent, but to be honest what does the purpose of complaining about it do? Comments are fun (esp when a person takes time to actually critique), but aren't the end all to everything. When you know people are listening, its enough for most of us. I don't think anyone does this with fame in mind, but more because we enjoy doing it.

if it's so frustrating for you, why don't you pay for premium membership on sendspace & megaupload, and then you'll be set?

If you're trying to download a mix from sendspace in Slovakia. You're just going to get a try again later message.

Thats one example, of why online hosting sites are not always the best option - not just the topic starters gripe, but they actually don't work in some areas of the world.
