Open a bashing topic for The Beatles and see what happens?

Oh come on Armin. People are bashing you left and right and maybe they're a bit overboard, but you go and come up with this? 8 vocals out of 11 (maybe 7, going wrong is just an animal in pain). Not all the criticism against him is justified but a lot is, and it isn't going to get any better with this album. Yes, pre-judging is a bit harsh, but I'll put my mortgage on a maximum of 2 of those vocals being even decent.

Communication, Blue Fear, Push, Exhale to this.
Sigh.

In this point it surely seems that it's not going to please my taste. I'm not too fond to vocaltrance. There have been really few good tracks in trance with vocals (usually it goes immediately into "pop" route). Of course even this album can surprise and I of course hope it would be in the level of "76".

Going Wrong was terrible track in my opinion and I haven't ever liked Jennifer Rene but otherwise I will bash this one if there's a reason after I've listened this one.

Which electro, I heard there's three. Same applies for progressive only there's thousands

Yeah vocal trance sucks

Sincerely,

Rock music
Hip Hop
Country
Blues
Jazz
And every other fucking music that has singing

I've liked trance for 10 years (I'm that old). I personally like a lot of the vocal songs. It can add a lot to a track. I mean most people in the world want to hear some singing. Sure it's a fine line between good vocals and cheese (going wrong vocal is horrendous) but I don't rule out songs that just have vocals in them. You hear that rant OVER AND OVER in this review section. Especially musical EDM snobs, which are dime a dozen here.

Another take I have is people that don't even like trance, electro snobs for example, who bash it constantly. I don't go on hip hop forums and bash their music. Why would I? What's the point? I certainly don't like the music.

I'm not saying I'll like these songs by the way. 76 sucked, his ASOT comps are boring, etc etc. I'm not an Armin fan. Just an opposing view on vocals.

Ok, so the next time someone cooks you a meal and it is terrible you are not allowed to complain unless you cook a better one.

Next time you're in a plane and the landing is a bit rough you aren't allowed to comment until you've taken the proper courses and garnered the same occupation and then attempted to land the plane in the exact same format.

Before you've eaten the meal, landed in the plane, no, you can't fucking criticise it.

But when the meal appears to be a dried dog shit ball that's been festering in the baking and torrid sun for a week and the plane is made of cardboard and is on fire, then yeah, you can make a pretty decent guesstimation.

Pretty much. I don't think there's anything new to say about the subject, really.

Except that you're all just jealous.

Like I said before, I'll wait few more weeks for this release. Full stop.

I see your point but after taking a look onto tracklist, it's just easy to predict, that it won't stay far from "Elements of Life" or "In Between" standards.

Posted by miamitranceman on Mar-22-2008 19:29:

Gotta wait for the samples.

What a fucking useless argument; there is an endless dearth of examples that prove it.

At a glance, this album looks to be shit. But that's to be expected.

Yeah but I think the point he was trying to make was that we haven't had the meal yet and yet we are already saying it's terrible... now THAT doesn't make much sense.

Sure you may argue that Armin has cooked up terrible meals in the past but judging someone solely on their past failures (in your eyes) doesn't mean that the next dish will be horrid.

Now your comparisons are getting a little too dramatic.

I can easily remember a time when I have gone to a resturaunt, ordered something and when it came to the table it didn't look great or maybe didn't smell amazing, but upon tasting it, it was great, or better than expected. I used to think cottage cheese looked disgusting but after trying it, I loved it.

It's called judging a book by it's cover. We may see tons of guest vocalists, and have a framee of reference of what we could expect (i.e. his last album) but who knows maybe it's going to be better than expected.

But whatever... we are all entitled to how we view the world and things within it. I just like not to fully judge something or someone until I have gotten the whole picture, until then I can have my preconceptions.

Which is exactly what I have: preconceptions that this is going to be wretched
