LOL! That's beyond ridiculous.

Wait wait wait I didn't read the whole thread but uh, are you serious?

I actually agree with the purse analogy...

there are *plenty* of people here who buy overly expensive cars and clothing, or have a rather healthy vacation or leisure budget.

so...if an Apple buyer is willing to admit that they don't mind paying a premium for something that's merely "different" or "pretty", what's the problem?

if you buy name brand clothing (of comparable quality to non name brand clothing) and you're bashing someone for spending more on an Apple product when the equivalent PC spec is quite a bit cheaper, you're potentially a hypocrite

Not really. Usually in your other examples you're paying for a higher quality product. This is not the case with anything Apple makes.

that's true part of the time. you're not necessarily getting higher quality in many instances when name brands are involved. hell, a more expensive car doesn't even mean you're getting a "better" product.

noting the article posted above, you still can't honestly say that Apple (in general) makes "bad" products. so if people want to pay a premium for something different and pretty, it's akin to paying for name brands who's quality does not equate to the premium paid.
