review:
- huge lineup as already mentioned, and of course, it was more of a "raver" crowd than people who actually knew or cared about any of the tunes being played, as was expected. alotta fuckin Etards, a lotta trannies, alotta cougars, etc.
infected mushroom - not my thing. ill let someone else comment on them.
house room - a lot of gay middle aged guys with no shirts on. also not my cup of tea
guetta - i was watching ferry and couldnt catch his set. some people told me he rocked, some people told me he sucked. i just tried to avoid the house room as much as possible
ferry - rocked the house. notable tracks:
into the dark
beautiful
fire
jan johnston - let the world fall apart
breakfast - the horizon
seth hutton - don't look behind you
georgia - ode to 99
i think he played 6am too but i could be wrong about that one
best part of the night.. SYSTEM F!!!! yes they both came on together and dropped exhale just before armin took over the decks, which was very cool
armin pumped out a solid set and kept the energy going strong until about 9am when menno took over, which is around the time i left. i was a little out of it by this point and someone else might be able to better ID some of the tracks he spun by but some memorable ones i remember:
toca's mircale
la guitarra
ernvesto vs. bastian - thrill
i really wanted to catch menno but as you might imagine by the time he came on at 9am everyone was pretty wiped out.
shittiest part of the night:
i dropped $100 and my ids somewhere when i was dancing which im sure some E-tard picked up
.. so if anyone found cash on the floor with a brown guys drivers license.. damn you.
all in all was it worth it? for the one-time experience, yeah. but not something i would do again and again, the only good thing about it was the DJs, which, as somebody already mentioned, you can usually catch for $20 on a saturday night
i would say, probably about 5 - 10% of the people there actually knew anything about who was spinning or what they were playing, the rest were just there to get fucked up and see what all the hypes about
Hi !
arghh the line-up !! what was that ? Fortunately, I catched up with friends at the beginning of the line, but it was awful. The line-up for the search was horrible : come on, hire more people to search and make clean lines, so people don't beat each other to get searched... bad.
Speaker blowing off : BAD... damn, 2nd year in a row ! same spot ! (rear right in tech room)... unacceptable.
On the good side, people and music ! Got there for Ferry with all this waiting; really liked the set + putting exhale (Ferry + Armin) at the end with Armin. He played a lot of his tracks (Fire, Beautiful, Gouryella). Armin's set was ok (specially 1st and last hour), but was a bit boring in between.
all in all, BeB has too fix some serious issues...
I had fun! .. haha of course
I have to ruin the thread
I got lucky and got a free vip ticket last minute, sold mine off to a friend and bolted to BeB around 12... because of guestlist drama for a friend we didn't get in until 12:30
headed straight for.. yup.. you should have already known
INFECTEDDDDD
fucking nutso. insane. rah rah clap clap. hands down the best ive ever seen them perform. 9/10 .. the crowd wasn't as crazy as they were for Decadence on Thursday.. but none the less.. it was a very energetic and greatttt way to start off my night
I was pretty bored with the house room until Guetta came on. id never heard him before and i wasnt expecting much at all.. definitley proved me wrong. I can appreciate the cheese when its such a big event and its someone ive never seen.
i had a ton of fun 8/10
Offer was amazing. HE [not she.. blah stop that] threw something new out. Yes.. he still had his diva diva fagness ... but hey... I loved that.. but he threw some tracks in that I would NEVER have expected him to play.. and that totally made my morning
10/10
Victore Calderon never dissapoints me. Loved every second of his set and the only thing I would have changed would be that he played earlier in the night instead of one of the other guys [whos names i dont remember because they didn't leave a lasting memory on me].
The only TAs I saw were Kotsy and Malek haha .. and thanks for dealing with the boys . theyre not so bitchy all the time
only when im not dancing with them and/or they dont think they look good enough for photos ahaha <33
ps kotsy i cant wait for the videos you took! what time did you jet out?
I never stepped foot back in the trance room after infected. my roomie said it was insane.. but thats not my thing.. so Im not gonna bother commenting
hope everyone recovers well!
ps. dropped by stereo this am. if it hadnt been free i would have been angry. of the 25 people there 20 of them were over 30. awkward much?
so overall? last years BeB was MUCH better music wise.. but this year was a great time with my friends and i can say it was well worth the money
ps i felt like a baby in there. i never noticed how many older people go to the massives.. and by older i mean 45+ ... and i met a guy who was 68! insane.
OH MY GOD WHAT A PARTY OH MY GOD
Lol's, there we go!

This was my last Bal en Blanc....
unless they get make another great line up like this next year ! lol
got inside around 2:15... seriously, the line. wtf ! (thank you DK Man for making me skip 4h wait)
I missed IM cause I went to La Mouche before. My friends were doing a party.
Ferry : Happy to hear him at Bal en Blanc... he played less cheesy than usual. By far the best set I heard from him...
Armin : Demoliting the dancefloor as always. a bit too Tech tho... after 4h my brain was going RATATATA RATATATA RATATATA !!!
Armin+Ferry : I've dreamed since the end 90's to see them together at an event...wished they did a tag team.
Menno : I stayed till 10 so I only heard the first half of his set. I believe he did great.
SICK night as usual. I couldn't feel my feet for some reason. Pain iun my back and one sholder. one of my eyes was killing me also. Got pretty red at one point... I don'T know wtf happend for it.
With all this I still found the energy to party good enough.
damn I 've seen so many people I know that night, I can't believe it. I had friends almost every where in the room. I haven't seen to many TAs this time tho.
Malek, thank you for that ticket.
DK Man, thank you for the line up.
PvD Geek, sorry for you what happend (ID,$) it wasn't me :P.
Anne, glad to see you there...surprised you recognized me.
also seen, NeoHacker, DarV, PsyTrancer, John H2O, Vestrex and... I think thats pretty much it.
Seriously where were the TAs ?
Marcus, were you in the gay room ?
sur ce, enough with the review... me goign to Habs game tonight !
and also the one after against buffalo... and the one against Toronto.
...
F-ING VICTOR CALDERONE ....
wtf.
Ferry was great, I dont even want to get into it ... couldnt stay in that house room for more than 2 minutes. Offer nissim? possibly the worst set I have ever heard of my life ... it sounded like he was doing a sound check ... oops, the track is mixing but my arms are up in the air, strange?
Victor destroyed it, like .... completely destroyed it.
Let me set you free.
1 word:
FERRYYYYYY

More later..need sleep.

Ok first off to all the people who had to wait that line up...omg when i saw that i was like for sure this is going to take forever..so my condolences to you guys..so many of my friends didn't get in because of the lineup..they just gave up and left...THANK GOD i had decided to buy the vip tickets...even if i had regular there is no way i would have waited 4 hours in line! insane..i had never seen it like this...what do you guys think the problem was? too much ppl at same time? overcrowd? or lack of employees? i would really love to see an explanation...
I got there at 12:30..inside the trance room by about 12:35..(vip worth it)
-Infected-in my opinion they rocked but there set at olympia was better still id give them a 8/10
-ferry-i wasn't too impressed but he dropped some sick traxx so id still give him a 8/10
-When i saw ferry sticking by after armin came on i was thinking in my head wow imagine a duo...that would be sick but my hopes went too high and didn't happen..
-armin-even thought i complained in the beginning about armin and how ive seen him so many times in like only a mater of 3 years...wow his set was off the hook (too bad the speaker blew out..dam that hurt my ears and was like when the hell will that get fixed?)..overall his set was intense...9/10
-Menno-I had never seen him before and i only lasted 1 hour into his set..but that 1 hour wow...sick...id give him props a good 8/10
Overall my night would have to be a 8/10..i Didn't stay in the house room because the trance room was just too sick. When armin played for 30mins i decided to check out the house room...and i hear bob sinclair during guettas set..(ive seen him many times at opera and he rocked) but when i heard sincliar im like ok yea guys get the hell out of here..
As for the crowd yea too many crack heads int here they should really do something bout that..I don't understand how some people must take some crap too last...I don't know how i last on 2 redbulls from 12:35am-10am dancing constantly...
The security guards in the vip room to the right side of the dj booth...i hope these clowns get a massive beating one day cause man were they acting like dicks!..i paid for a dam vip ticket i think i am ALLOWED to go anywhere i want in the vip room and not have a dam security guard stick by me through out the whole night...stupid dicks...
I would also have to agree with the statement made by Krinker:
'I'm sorry but if you're going to a big party that is most likely sold you, you don't get there around midnight, u get there around 10, do an hours maybe 2 of line-up and then you're in the for the rest of the night.'
Dont fully blame the organization for this...you guys have a fault in this also. Its funny how so many ppl in here expect to get treated like mr king shit because they think so highly of themselves...wake up and knock yourself back tot he real world.
Ok enough now more sleep!
Bal was so-so this year.
First the line-up, WOW! We arrived at 12 and the line went outside the Palais de Congres. Fortunately, we knew someone in line and only had to wait about 30 min
. Sorry for anyone that had to wait all that time.
Infected Mushroom: These guys are awesome live. Only the second time I've seen them, but they again managed to get the crowd to go nuts. Something about heavy guitar riffs and psy-trance, I dunno but it really pumps you up. 8/10
Ferry Corsten: Biggest disapointment of the night. Ferry plays lots of great tracks on his radio show but at bal 80% of his set was old classics. And the classics were all slow and lacking that badass, dark feel. And why the hell were the damn speakers so loud? Anyways, he was the dj I was most looking forward to seeing and he did not deliver. 4/10
Armin: Stayed for 20 min but my ears were killing me.
From 05:30 to 09:30 I stayed in the house room and the music was pretty awesome. Nice, funky, badass music. The sound volume was actually bearable.
If these big name trance dj's continue this garbage of playing the same old recycled trance tracks over and over, I might just stay in the house room all night.
Crowd was the usual for Beb, everyone knows
. Will I attend again? Right now I say no....but I always say that the day after.

We got there at about 1AM, hoping to be able to make it in by 2:30 to get to see Ferry start.
lol.
Anyway, we got in around 5:30ish and caught the rest of Armin. Loved it.
Best part is waiting in line and complaining to my friend only to have one of the BeB guys working the line tell me that there was nothing he could do about it and what's the difference, whether I wait 10 hours at a hospital for something or 4 hours in line for BeB.
Fucking massively trolled.

I will elaborate later but David Guetta was terrible and I too am looking forward to seeing what BeB has to say about the crammed Palais and excessively long line, though I do not think we get the full truth anyways.

At first we were being told it was going to be a 2 hour wait when we got there at 1, which sucked, but there were tons of people and then it started moving slower and slower. We were thinking of leaving, but at every time we were about to go, it slowly advanced so we just said fuck it and at that point we just stayed in line to prove to ourselves we could do it.
