I find that it's the other way around for me. The first half, especially the first thirty minutes, are what I love so much. Then again, I've been enjoying just listening to Ambient over the past month than I have listening to actual dance music.

Right about 1:04:00 was, for me, just the pinnacle of the set - kind of like how they oversimplify fiction writing for you in grade school (i.e. introduction, conflict, rising action, peak, resolution, falling action), it just really felt to me like the whole thing had really been almost goal oriented (whether or not that's me imposing my beliefs on the set or had actually been J1's intent is a whole other matter).

Regardless, very interesting to see the varied responses to this.

it is a good mix. obviously not my usual style but it's really well done as usual. it could use some JR though.

good to see that someone finally posted a mix with this kind of sound.

thanks! ya that was the part i was referring to, kind of made me cringe when i did it but oh well.

too many things to turn on and reset every timeeeee

I was wondering, at what point does your track ("Lwowska") start in the mix?

And are you ever going to post some ambient stuff in the producer promo forum?

That's how I've been thinking of the album I'm working on.

i've also got to endorse this mix.

very good

reminds me of this deadbeat set i've been listening to a lot - live@ tokyo spacelabyellow 2005

I will give this a whirl in a bit.

I yearn for the day where I can add jupiterone to my artists list on beatport. although, better yet, you selling tunes directly from your website and cut out the middle man.

listening now...

track that comes in at 10:00 is beautiful.

Posted by Ek0nomik on Apr-02-2008 02:56:

excellent mix jupiterone. the track at 10:00 is still definitely my fav.

I still remember the tune that sparked my interest in ambient; global communications - 12:18

Thanks for listening.

This will be my last mix for a while. Going to europe for 3 months in may! Wooaaaa yah!

This is a very enjoyable mix, more original than yet another random house or techno mix. I liked especially the first 30mins.

If you liked this mix I'd recommend this great live by Digitonal @ Bloc, some inspirational music:

3 months... geesh.

you may have heard of them jupiterone, but I'd suggest you check out 'Our Sleepless Forest'. Doors in Limbo is a beautiful track... may be up your alley.

Damn, this has definitely sparked my interest in ambient.

I thought the flow worked very well, it was kinda like the set was trying to tell a story, at least to me. As for the mixing I'd say it was pretty damn good. I've never heard an ambient set so I don't really know what to listen for, but the tracks seemed to flow together perfectly so I'm guessing that's a good thing.

All in all, fantastic mix. I've always been a bit wary of this type of music and I'm really glad you've opened my ears a bit. This one will have a spot on my iPod for some time.

thankssss dude, glad it got you interested in the genre.

i had two pieces of concept art that i was gonna use for this mix. basically the first one that is on the first page and then another one with the little black monster in a city scene. the original concept was a lost/found deal, ambient being the more lost/unknown (forest) bit and the 2nd section of more on beat stuff being the found/resolve (city) bit of the mix.

so i kind of followed that idea as the mix developed. so i guess there is somewhat of a story to it.
