Why don't they like each other

They pretty much sucked every since the "Beautiful Things" era. I will lose NO sleep.

Haha, sorry I wasn't clear enough. No, Dave was just piss drunk and/or on something and looked totally out of it like he could barely function. So he just left Josh in the booth. It was definitely weird.

Hopefully Josh produces some more tunes like Wave 3.

G&D were one of the first trance duos I listened too back in 2005(Ultra Trance) Sad to see them go and I did like their album

All I can say is wow. I really loved their everything from them up until their Essential Mix at WMC. After that it seemed like they went downhill. I still hope Andian album is released though.

Edit: Kenneth Thomas said that they were no more on his show this past week and I was like wtf.

josh gabriel - crosstalk
josh gabriel - summit
josh gabriel - azora

all the latest solo tracks are fucking awesome

This is bad news. I love there hit Tracking Treasure. I hate to see them part ways. Oh well.

You seem to be the first.

Yes, I would say "Faithless - It's a Kind of Peace (Gabriel and Dresden Remix)" proves that one.

that, i would honestly say, was THE WORST song EVER made in the history of Trance, i mean, its a pathetic excuse of a song and shames out the mighty Trance genre... waste of my precious 5 minutes, which i could be listening to something much better...

Posted by Arteh on Mar-29-2008 11:38:

one of them is actually ALWAYS drunk , this can even look line he is just not serious as the music they play
i saw this with my own eyes 2 times.

Posted by skip on Mar-29-2008 12:07:

good riddance.

they made some good tracks, but most of their tunes were crap, especially recently. also why are people classifying them as trance? i haven't heard any trance from them.

Posted by BoRe on Mar-29-2008 12:10:

Yeah, Gabriel & Dresden were NOT trance. His sound was something like Progressive House.. good choons, but not my style

Posted by StalkerElmo on Mar-29-2008 12:39:

2006 was one of g&d's more notably popular tech-prog trance days.. now that they have just gone it is though it seems that their current work are nothing but mere replicates but in a lazier way IMO

I think they were pretty Trancey in the earlier days, with their remix of No One On Earth stands out as the most prominent example of this, pounding away at 138bpm (and also classifies as some of their finest work, in my opinion).

...'their' sound.

No multi-member project can stay together forever.

It'll probably result in better productions from both parties, because as a pair, they probably fell into a pattern that resulted in their somewhat limp performances as of late.

I've never heard of a Gabriel & Dresden performance that could be described as anything but "limp."

Imagine the worst roller coaster ride you have ever been on. If you've never been on a bad roller coaster, then imagine what it would be like. Really, really, really bad.

I missed a live Bodzin set because of these assholes as well.

Maybe I wasn't clear, but I totally agree with you.

They were never any good. Sure, a couple a good remixes but that's as far as this duo went.

I was referring to the first part "They were never any good."

i agree a lot of their new stuff is "go nowhere" but theyve had a lot of good stuff. check out their bloom cd. its pretty legit in my opinion. their replay the night remix was pretty sick as well. and finally check out their 3 hour set at pacha new york in early 07. its pretty fuckin good, not your typical gabriel and dresden set.

Bloom was the real deal (yes, it mostly wasn't their own tracks). But IMO if you want to see the best of what they had to offer style-wise before they went crap-electro and TTD on us definitely check out that cd. It's night and day.

True. I suppose characterizing recent work as "somewhat limp" would make it sound like an improvement. My apologies.

Will I still be able to buy Organized nature tracks? I'd like to have 'Summit' in 320k.

This is kinda sad, they've been around a long time, there was a period in my EDM life when I loved them. I LOVED Bloom, still do, kinda sorta liked that artist album, wasn't too fond of most of their recent stuff but they're still legends IMO.
