Pages (2): « 1 [2]
...All I have to say, is that I am def hitting this party next year, come hell or high Sanders...Van Doorns!
the boat party was a fantastical time, sasha was amazing.. beautiful perfect weather, great food and drinks... i didn't want to leave.. sigh, it sucks to be back home
i will be going for sure next year, without a doubt
Such an amazing afternoon. That was the most fun I had all week - even though I'm not a huge fan of sasha & diggers... and I came without knowing anyone. The weather, food, drinks, music, atmosphere was so on point. And holy crap @ that yacht. Gorgeous!
I have tons of pictures/videos I'll post soon. I'm moving this weekend and my computer/usb cable is packed up in a box so it'll be awhile.
I'm so glad I had the opportunity to go.

I know that someone has an awesome pic of the dolphins that came up to the boat. Whomever it was, they were on the bottom level and the flash went off right as the dolphin jumped into the air, like 3 ft away from the boat.
I would love to have that pic if anyone can locate it for me.
Thanks muchly

What is a Maven and what does it do? Is Sasha the only DJ that uses one? How much does it cost?

Originally posted by Dream Beamz Lol, the Maven is a glorified Midi controller. Only one in existence made to Sashas specifications. Its not hard to make one and sure should not cost what I have heard that he paid to have it made. oh yeh, and he uses Ableton, just the maven is his controller rumour has it that it was either stolen or it broke during the conference

Originally posted by llavoe There is more than one in existence. There have been about 6 that have been auctioned off for charity over the years. I have no idea why Sasha is not using another one on his tour. My only guess is that they have a crew looking at the one that broke to find out exactly what went wrong before they make another one, or maybe they are making another one and it is just taking some time.

originally posted by Sasha on Bp Ive never ever had a problem with the Maven, but in Miami after sound check, I took the Maven back to the hotel to work out my set, explains Sasha. When I tried to turn it on, it didnt do anything. I think one of the power parts in it blew up. The Maven has been sent to MIDI hospital, and since then Sasha has been using a couple of different MIDI controllers. For the Boston and Philadelphia gigs, he was running off an Evolution UC-33e, a rather cheap and flimsy controller compared to the Maven. Then in New York at Webster Hall, he played off the much bigger and more impressive Korg Zero 8 controller, which Sasha has been using ever since. The Korg is really great actually, says Sasha. It is really nice to play off. The Maven might catch up with the tour at some point, but for now the Korg is Sashas tool of choice to control Ableton.
Here's his set up with Spooky @ Vanguard
