but here goes. being a mod around here especially in the two most active parts of the forum is like being a 3rd grade schoolteacher, no, scratch that, it's like being a kindergarten teacher. you see all kind of ruckus & shit, all the fucking time, and it's all repeating. it's not really fun, but someone has to do it since when you are dealing with people that act like 3 yearolds online, yes i'm talking about you 'bertie ahern'.

you want new mods? i don't really think that but if you think that, do not bitch to me about it, direct your complaints to swamper. but if it would have come this scenario that a new mod would be add, you would be the last choice since you haven't even proven yourself to be a productive member of this forum for fuck sake.

seriously, leave your computer and go outside and find something better to do.

I personally love having opinions questioned and discussions about that. I think the problem is instead of discussing differences of opinions and addressing the topic at hand, some people like to just attack a person, not the opinion. You take things to a personal level and there are going to be long drawn out posts about it which end up getting threads shut down. Leave things on the topic at hand, and great discussions will ensue. I've adapted myself now to how things work around here so that I don't react like a fool (as I did when I first came here) but I have seen quite a few threads get shut down because some people just like to be an ass to others and can't seem to talk about a topic they disagree with. And I've only been here a week.

I can see where both sides are coming from. There's a certain sense of comraderie and understanding to the people that have been here a long time and talking smack is normal. but to newcomers or those who just don't swing that way, it gets taken personal or is more of an annoyance and throws the thread off topic. It shouldn't be a surprise when it happens. And it's sad when good discussions get shut down from it.

I can't believe people actually give a shit about this sort of thing. It's a fucking messageboard - Get a life. I'd love to see TA deleted just to hear about all the wrist slitting.

i agree with bertie. threads should not be deleted just because it goes off topic or has lots of bitching in it. what harm is it causing staying up? none. it just annoys veterans that spend A LOT of time on here. this board is their life, because they have no life, something trivial like a messy thread gets their panties in a twist. the vets look even more pathetic when they constantly rate threads like "this thread is shit" or "this thread is gold!", as if a messy thread will ruin their day or some shit. i'll read one of those threads and when it starts to become pages of flaming, ill read about 2 pages into it (cause it is entertaining for a while) and move on. it doesnt bother me because i have a life outside of TA. it really is no big deal to just move on to another thread, but if the vets did that then their lack of flaming wouldnt make this the entertaining place it is, which is a place that over the years has become more about musical ego and comedic insults than it is about music. which type of bitching is more justified ... bitching about a thread getting out of hand, or bitching about censorship? i would say the latter. mods should stick to just getting rid of spam. just my 2 cents. ive been here years and i refuse to "adapt".

the thread i made yesterday was deleated for some reason,maybe the mods felt threatend in some way because to had something to do with them?..but then i get a pm off the mods giving abuse for starting the thread in the first place? then i get more abuse in this thread for posting up the pm i got sent.....

i say a few people were interestd in the thread i started yesterday and why it was deleated all of a sudden....that is the reason i posted the PM up i got sent,

Yups.. you are totally right and on track.. thats all what the 'mods' do in all other forums.. but in here somehow 'mods', montana to be specific seems to have intellectual power to decide wether the thread is intelligent or not.. if it dosent appeals to him he will straight away delete them or kill it by closing. So we need to fuck montana out of the mod system cos he is not mod but god.

I wont be surprised if god feels insecure again and deletes this thread too.

Never did I say he could not speak out. It's the way he is speaking out which is no better than those he is pointing fingers at. You (bertie) have done pretty well and keeping a cool head about it. zen-zo could use some help in that area.

All I want to see out of this is not seeing threads CLOSED just cus they went off track. Some warnings and a clean up would be nice. I get montana's point about it being like watching over kindergartners but welcome to every message board out there. If it's out of hand here it's because the mods have let it be that way. If you signed up to be a mod, be a mod and don't just close everything that gets out of hand. Part of the meaning of moderator is to keep things in line. shutting stuff down doesn't help anything and IMO encourages the behavior that gets things off track to begin with.

You can't tell me it would be that much more work to delete some offending posts, slap in a warning to keep things on track and be on the way than it is to just close a thread down. If you were already reading the thread, start the clean up.
