The ego, serious business

Posted by isoterra on Apr-05-2008 13:55:

i'm waiting for him to post in this thread & deny it ever happened

Posted by enydo on Apr-05-2008 14:17:

Wow... that's pretty retarded.

Posted by DOOMBOT on Apr-05-2008 14:20:

By the way, being a dj is serious business. Forget about the fact that the entire point of your job is to help throw a good party by providing music. You MUST let your ego get in the way at all times and if you don't like any of the other djs, you MUST let them know. This includes getting them kicked out of a party that they were originaly booked to play.

Again, being a dj is SERIOUS business.

What a lot of shit. Just because you're a DJ, doesn't mean you can't be civil.

i wouldnt wanna be in the same room with that fat ass either.
schossow and levi are the two biggest reasons why trance is the shittest genre since white power country music.

Posted by Minhaj on Apr-05-2008 14:49:

btw this whole thing reminds me of july 4th 2004 in miami.
PvD and ATB were scheduled to play the same gig.
ATB wouldn't play if PvD was gonna play to, so the promoters didn't really give a fuck and ATB never ended up playing.

Yeah, you better edumacate them on how to put unmixed pads and strings on myspace with a sprinkling of prearranged sample cd drumloops.

Nothing beats the infamous "Morillo vs Kleinenberg" story here!

Morillo was booked to play a certain club in Melbourne. Sander K happened to be in town too, for a different gig.

Sander arrives at said club in his travels, asks if he can spin, FREE OF CHARGE. Of course, the club agrees, and Sander jumps on the decks.

Half an hour in, Morillo arrives for his set, which is not for another few hours (i.e Sander wasn't stealing any of his booth time).

Morillo throws a hissy fit, saying he won't play unless Sander fucks off.

Club throws Sander out and Morillo gets to play.

(If I was the manager, I would have thrown Morillo out, handed his enormous appearance fee back to the owner, got Kleinenberg to fill his spot, and congratulated myself for getting a big international jock to play for free)

Friend of mind booked morillo to play his club in ottawa, Canada years ago. he showed up and was a total asshole primadonna.. they ended up kicking him out before his set.. made him leave through the back door! Just by coincidence Josh Wink was in town as his wife had some gallery show that weekend. Wink was there and had his records so he played for free and destroyed the club.

This is Doombot. This is the guy who complained about his copy of Right of Way being broken because he played it at 33rpm instead of 45.

It may sound sarcastic, but I would be silly to assume that!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

How the F*CK! did you remember that?! Hahaahaha, I'm dying over here!

Posted by DarkMemoria on Apr-05-2008 15:23:

Pretty silly thing to do... but maybe their beef goes deeper than the rat / mau5 thing. Terrible idea to book both of these guys for the same night, can't imagine what the promoter was thinking - so do both guys still get paid in this case or what?

In any case, an extra long live set from Deadmau5 would still be awesome, he puts on a great show.

Well Deadmau5 is scrawny so he's already lost on that point...

Deadmau5 is many things, but he certainly isn't fat. He looks as though he weighs about 120lbs everytime I've seen him.

Most likely they didn't know that the two obviously don't like each other too well

lol

Sorry the door was unlocked...

Posted by keithos27 on Apr-05-2008 15:52:

so they have beef over one releasing songs as deadmau5 and the other as deadrat6? which came first and did one steal the "idea" from the other, or was one just joking?

doesn't really seem like anything that would make one refuse to play at the same gig as the other...
