I suppose it's more of an 18+ issue.

i'm thinking of better djs for cirque. i'm still amazed pvd isn't playing there. i might not go to pvd in may just because of the all the panic attacks I'll have with the crowd all shoved into LL.

getting back to Tiesto, he fit in well at Palladium. That place is massive, and it was perfect for that event.

I'm sure you post has a point, I just don't see it.

I could give two shits about Tiesto. My point was that big name DJ's can still be booked there.

PVD at blue a few yrs. back was great.

here; Tiesto can bring 3000 plus to any major city he comes to. yes you may not like him but there are people that do. a lot of people. dont ask me why they just do. Tiesto knows how many people he can bring there for he is NOT cheap. Cirque will not hold 3000 people. now or less you have sponsores or your willing to pay a 100 dollars a ticket i just dont see how there going to hold it in there. or much less accommodate some of his needs in his rider in there. Thats my point.

thats all carry on now

Just sayin

once again, i agree completely...

Well...that's just like your opinion man, I couldn't care any less what you thought about it. I thought it was better than set I saw him do at Crobar NYC in 2003. Most Dj's I see usually throw down a two hour set. Maybe it's different in NYC.

The only reason I posted in this thread was to point out that I think Dallas deserves a proper venue. I'm not a fan of the Lizard Lounge, which is just my opinion.

I've seen some great Dj's at some smaller clubs in places like Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, and Denver, and it seems to go over pretty well. The crowd is usually a little older and the vibe is just better.

I don't have the flow to start or build my own place, so that won't be happening. Maybe someday.

Posted by gimmebeatz on Apr-09-2008 23:15:

exactly, thats my opinion. its an open forum so im allowed to express my thoughts about an event. but $30 for 2 hours of pvd is bullshit. just like meltdown when carl cox headlined...people waited all nite for him to go on and then he played an hour and a half? thats bullshit

So, why is he not at the Palladium again??

I don't get it.

That place was awesome, roomy, and no hidden steps to bust ur ass in the middle of the dance floor!

Remember the walkway in the middle of the club that went back to the video bar? When I left the table where we were all sitting to step outside for a breather, I literally was stuck in a chaos of about 50 people that couldn't move in that spot, they had become completely stopped. I ended up having to go back to my football days, throw an elbow in some dude's face and move the whole mass of people out of the way to unclog the hole. The guy wasn't happy, but hey, get the fuck out of my way, I'm bigger than you!

Hahahahahaha hell yeah thats how i feel sometimes.

Posted by progress on Apr-15-2008 06:41:

It was ridiculous, one of those dudes at a club that feels the need to try and push everyone else out of the way. I know I can take up some real estate in a crowded club, but I do everything I do to let everyone pass. He caused the blockage, I ended it. Hate ******s like that.

We were at Sander k in miami and this dude kept jumping up and down on my foot so i kinda nudged him. he kept doing it so while he was in the apex of his final jump there Cory decides to send him flying. he jumps back up and says dont be a douche i was i told you to stop and you didnt so you payed to price. mike grabbed me and pulled me off but left his chick there. she went off on him i am not sure where he ended up we never saw him again. that was one of the few times i was actually ready to throw down in a club i am normally cool and calm.

Posted by progress on Apr-15-2008 06:47:

ROFL. Allsome. I'm the same, I'm always calm, but there are definitely times where my button can be pushed.

Matt, I could see you at an Insane Clown Posse moshpit, breaking bones in just about any idiot that dares run into you.

LOL.

The guy who did my tattoo a few weeks ago is big as fuck (i'm talking about 290 pounds- 6 foot 8 inches), and he was talking about that very thing; events getting so crowded and him having to knock over a few souls to get through people. I would do anything in my will power to dodge some bulldog like that, seriously. I was in a moshpit back in 2003 for the Metallica/Mudvayne/Linkin Park concert at the Toyota Center, and I came out with a broken nose.

Posted by progress on Apr-15-2008 06:52:

I avoid moshpits like the plague. Idiots see a big guy step in one and that guy becomes a target for everyone else there. That's when it's really annoying.

cmon matt, something tells me you'd be a target regardless
