I love the opening track! This has to be the best opener youve used thus far. Rich, warm, and ambient all rolled into one. Its a shame Solo must end, but youve done a nice little fade into the Moshic tune which wastes no time in getting down to business. Though darker, the track is full of melodic goodness, and the vocals add a nice touch to this particular track. Mona Kea comes in with a nice, strong kick and some melodic quirkiness for lack of a better term. This track retains the darker, moodier atmosphere of the mix at this point, and it too makes good use of the vocals.

I'm still in love with all of Tastexperiences previous tracks ("Summersault" is an extremely prized vinyl of mine!) so I was so excited about this release, and sure enough they don't disappoint. Still a phenomenal talent for producing those soothing melodic tracks without the cheese. Glad you like the Moshic tune, was worried about the transition to it at first but I actually thinks it works quite well, almost as if "Solo" is a prologue to the rest of the mix.

The Mango treatment of Campfires comes through next. The mix out was a bit quicker here, but that may have been to avoid clashing melodies, as Campfires gets right down to business. Typical Mango warmth and melodies in this track! Nice, uplifting little stabs throughout.

Yeah it was intentional, I love how the Mango remix introduces the bassline with such urgency, so i felt it was important to inject some pace to the mix at this point. I didnt want to lessen the impact of the bass' introduction.

quote:
Another smooth mix into Neon. I love how the vocals from the previous tune hang around long enough to get the listener into Neon. Neon builds into a nice trancer with an excellent, urgent lead. You can tell your friend nice work on this one. Great melodic work on this tune. Nearly hypnotic at times.

He'll be well chuffed I'm sure!

quote:
Bat Kol picks up the pace, pushing us into the final act of the mix. I love the subtle little lead on this one. But I have no idea what kind of instrument it is! Theres some great percussive work here as well, and the driving bassline moves the mix along nicely. Nice mix into Talyo, which has a great kick and a great lead. Excellent break in this gem, too. Combined with the chanting, all the elements work together here to make a stunning track as we continue with peak time.

I love these two tracks together, can't place the instrument either, I'm guessing its some sort of eastern one, sounds tip-tp though.

quote:
Paroxetine slides into the mix next, and right out of the gate you can tell this is going to be a great trancer! Strong lead and bass work. This one just washes over you and really carries you away. Hypnotic break, then it assaults the listener with explosive goodness all the way into New Style, which comes in with a massive kick. This track just pounds away until the break, introducing all sorts of quirky sounds along the way (but thats psy for you, right). What a great, uplifting track.

Really glad you loike the psy-trance tune, first heard it on the Psyentifica mix on these very forums and was astounded to know that its available for free download HUGE melodic lead!

Thanks for the brilliant review Ryan, you win!

Hey! No problem mate Love Chris Girard's work, so had to get on this. Keep up the quality productions!

As Freeflow said, this is definitely essential mix quality. It seems as though this is the culmination of all the work that went into the previous Sessions. A great showcase of talent on both the mixing and programming side and on the production side.

I doff my cap to all the hard working producers out there. Some great stuff being produced on the edges of the scene and at the grassroots. Hopefully people will start to delve deeper!
Thanks for the kind words about the mix again mate, I had to do a double take when I saw the length of the review!

Was bored at work today and thought I'd download some sets to help me through a slow friday.
I'd got one of the windmill sessions before and loved it, so I thought great, 2 hours of this will help Friday fly by....

This is SO great. Just amazing. I felt compelled to actually dig out my old login details to this forum just so I could reply here and give you props.

Techically it's brilliant, music selection is stunning (what's nice about not following the scene too closely is that when you come back there's lots of aural treets waiting for you ). Altogether this set it just bloody superb, around the hour mark it's just sublime....

Burning this onto CD now for my drive home.

So, so good!

Apologies mate, I would have replied to your brilliant feedback earlier but I must have been knocked for 6 by Zoso's epic review!

I love the fact that you went to the effort to find your old log-in details just to respond to the mix, thats dedication man!

Thanks for the inspiring words, hope you can check out my future mixes too

PS. Glad to see it gets the burning treatment, thats the true test

Patience!

Seriously though, it wont be too long now. I go through the same ritual each month, from searching high and low, then compiling the tunes + purchasing them. Then arranging them in a few test tracklists and then finally mixing it proper. Im at the purchasing stage now! It might even be another 2 hour beast!

No rush, mate. Good things come to those who wait!
