Guys
Let me give you some details about the iphone, coz i read alot of false info in the pages before
I have unlocked over 50 phones so let me explain to you how things work
In the iphone as any computer you have 2 parts the software (OS) and the hardware
the Software part of the iphone is called the firmware and the first one that came with the first iphone was version 1.0.2 then came 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3 and finally the latest one 1.1.4.
There's a newer one to be released in june the 1.2.0 or more know as the 2.0 and there's already a 2.0 beta available but not recommended
The hardware part is more complex
You have something called Bootloader and something called Baseband
Bootloaders make sure that when the iPhone boots it is doing things in the right order, and getting everything done.
There are 2 Bootloader versions the 3.9 that came with the first Iphone and continued to be supplied in the iphones till the firmware 1.1.1.
After the 1.1.2 release the new iphones came with a new Bootloader the 4.6
Your bootloader version determines the kind of unlock you can perform. Because 3.9 is the easy-going, it will allow the hack/crack do all sorts of things during the boot process. It makes the phone very accessible.
Bootloader 4.6 is a much more restricting,it does not allow you to write a hacked baseband that it can't verify.
What does write a hacked baseband mean ?
In order to Unlcock your iphone (in order to be able to use any sim card) you need to write a hacked Baseband on the original one to unlock the iphone
BASEBAND:
Versions: 03.12.06_G, 03.14.08_G, 04.01.13_G, 04.02.13_G, 04.03.13_G, 04.04.05_G
The BaseBand is the iPhone's backpack.
The BaseBand controls the interaction between the Phone part of the iPhone and the operating system. In most cell phones, the Baseband chip is seperate from the phone's main hard drive and processor. The Baseband is one of those things the Bootloader checks on when it's waking up the iPhone.
Whenever the iPhone needs to talk to cell towers-- whether for voice or data-- it works through the Baseband. The Baseband is responsbile for making sure the sim-card is valid and for getting Signal.
So since the new iphones came with the 4.6 Bootloader and the 4.6 didnt allow us (iphone unlockers) to write an unlocked (hacked) Baseband on the original one in order to unlock it. We were stuck and had to use hacked SIM cards in order to fool the iphone into thinking we are using the original AT&T sim card.
2 months ago u guy called Zibri found a way to bypass the 4.6 Bootlader security check so that we can replace the the iphone's 4.6 bootloader with the 3.9 one which gives us access to write a hacked Baseband on the original one in the iphone.
and since then it's heaven coz what we can do now is that we can just take a brand new iphone with a 4.6 bootlader , downgrade the baseband to 3.9 and then since the 3.9 in very easy to hack we re able to replace the original baseband with a hacked one and voila the iphone is unlocked and can be used with any SIM card
GUYS YOUR IPHONE WILL NEVER BECOME AN IBRICK UNLESS YOU DID SOMETHING REALLY REALLY STUPID
It's like a computer when we have a problem all you have to do is format and reinstall and everything works again and the advantage with the iphone is that itunes backs up absolutely everything on the iphone, that means when you "format and clean install" the firmware well you get all your info back in 2 min.
Louis it's not true that you cant send massive SMS, with the new 1.1.4 the feature was implemented in the iphone
and even before alot of free applications did the job on all the prior version (1.0.2/1.1.1/1.1.2/1.1.3) these applications are downloadable straight to the iphone from within the iphone.
This is very interesting, thanks for posting this info.
ok now question for you: If I update my iphone from 1.1.2 to whatever is the latest software and then have it unlocked again, will I have the latest features like multiple text-messaging, or be able to drag my icons around, etc? Or is that hardware?
The only major problem I have with mine is that it keeps sending empty text messages, but then again this may have to do with the fact that I have the turbo sim (as I bought my iphone almost the same day the new software came out and had not been hacked yet). Any suggestions?
iPhone? Pfft, that's old news. The XPERIA X1 is where it's at.

| Originally posted by DJ Eterno stop signing contracts with providers. cough up the 5 to 700 and just get the phone unlocked. no need to wait for rogers to pick it up. i dont really see all these providers as actual "cell phone" providers but just "providers". north american wireless market is pretty much primitive compared to europe and asia as you all may know. personally, i'd never consider getting a phone from any of these providers simply because i know if i cough an X amount extra, i can get a phone that surpasses quality of the phones our providers have. also i dont agree with this whole contract signing business. im spending an average of $700 a year paying bills and the last think i would want is to be stuck doing that with the same provider for 2 or 3 years. yea you can get a cheap phone if you sign your life away but if people cant afford a phone then they really shouldn't have one. imo. |
buy an iphone from the states 399$ .. ive had one since jan:B
