Come to think of it, I dont even think ive seen armin since TW in 2006!
i'll most likely be skipping out on this one as well. =/

I hope they increase the sound this year, I remember yelling at armin, to turn up the volume.

keep dreaming, no dj has done 8-9 hrs since 2002 and definitely NOT at an outdoor party in NYC, the curfew is like 10-1030pm

Can't wait. I liked McCarren Pool and I'm sure they'll improve the sound this year.

armin went on at 330 and ended around 11 15 at Tobacco Warehouse

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Apr-15-2008 02:59:

^^ that may be true. well i hadn't gotten there at 330pm so i didnt know he started that early but thats just ONE event in YEARS compared to all the other Summerstage events.

im glad to see the lineups at Water Taxi though, now theres an event that could possibly allow for extended set times without having to worry about city curfews

Posted by neon on Apr-15-2008 03:06:

i still remember the nights when PvD played Roxy until 730 in the morning .. those were the nights of memory.

nowadays? sigh.

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Apr-15-2008 03:08:

^^

it was 830am during certain times also, Chris...totally magical. used to close those nights and feel awesome afterwards

man i feel lucky that i jumped into the scene JUST at that time. but of course i missed out on the glory days of S&D and PVD at Twilo, now those were the marathon edm sessions...so lucky i made it to the last PVD show at Twilo. Amazing...

ARC parties were hella awesome too though, among the best.

and of course the Insomnia Days of GLOW down in DC back then...leaving the party til the music stopped/venue closed around 530am-6am -- those were really great too.

+1

Maybe Bal will be the only place to see Armin from here on out...

PVD's new venue looks cool though... hope no one knocks me over into the water!

is there an afterparty? lol

on the real iam kinda bummed out cause i really wanted to see him back at tobacco but i see alot of negative in this post and i wont try as be as bad
i will agree tho his set was doo doo brown last year and the sound sucked balls

hopefully this year the sound will be up to par and armin will bring it a lil better i have faith in him lol

p.s i think this is the last year mccarren is gonna be around to do concert events anyway

damn. i was really hoping they'd book a better venue this year, especially w/the show being around july 4th. based on what i heard about last year's show, even another show at central park would've been better. eh.. i'll be quicker to buy tickets for pier 54.

anticipations dashed to crap, but yeah I'll be going anyway..
well maybe they didnt want to deal with the cops like in o6 @ the tobbaco warehouse just to go to the bathroom u got searched and coming back u got search it was a better party then armin in mccarren but it is what it is

Posted by Aspy on Apr-15-2008 15:13:

Well I heard that he was really really sick las year when he took place at same spot. He had temperature over 102 F. So thats why that event wasnt enought good. I think this one will be better. Hopefully.

I don't think that has anything to do with why Made didn't hold the event there this year lol

But +1 to Blakes comment concerning looking up tickets for PVD at Pier 54, I did already. No promo code tho - unless it was updated again since I last checked.

Yeah that's the one reason I'm not sure I want to go since I know Armin wanted to expand the live performances on this next big 'armin only' tour. I'll have to hear his new album first..

Well, if the first album single is of any indication, I think Armin and PvD are competing for the a "King of Trance Pop" spot. I think a Armin Van Buuren featuring Hanna Montana track is not too far fetched at this point.
