The Bell Centre hasn't seen a Cup Final... it only opened in '96... the place will erupt though if he wins!!!

Quoted from Wikipedia:
The Bell Centre (French: Le Centre Bell), formerly known as the Molson Centre, has been the home of the Montreal Canadiens since March 16, 1996 when they hosted the New York Rangers (a game which they won 4-2). The team departed from the historic Montreal Forum after their last game on March 11 of the same year. Construction began on the site on June 22, 1993, 13 days after the Canadiens defeated the Los Angeles Kings at the Forum for their 24th and most recent Stanley Cup.

you have to see some of the older TKO and UCC events from Montreal (TKO is still running and is affiliated with UFC to some extent as a feeder league). Many well known fighters have gained notoriety from fighting there...like GSP, Loiseau, Stout, Hominick, Cote, etc. Even some legends like Jeremy Horn have fought for them.

Awsome! someone with a real understanding of MMA and not just someone jumping on the GSP bandwagon. Your right, TKO is a great feeder league for the UFC and Canadian MMA is taking over.

We've got GSP the most ferocious 185 pounder in the world (IMHO), Loiseau who has the most vicious elbows in the game, Mark Hominick, a featherwiehgt monster! And Sam 'Hands of Stone' Stout, Canada is taking over! (the fight network rocks)

And yes! I am jacked up for the fight on Sat, i dont think ive ever been so stoked for a fight before

The whole world is gonna see that Matt Sera's last win was a fluke, and that Georges St Pierre owns the MMA world!

I've been a diehard MMA fan for ~10 years

Another Canadian to watch is Chris Horodecki, who fought out of London, ON with Shawn Tompkins camp. He's been lighting it up in the IFL, with only one loss on his record. He's only 20 and already has incredible kickboxing skills...just needs to develop his ground game. You can see tons of clips on youtube.

He'll be in the UFC someday (if he leaves IFL)...guaranteed.

yea, very exciting fighter. that one loss though was brutal. i couldnt watch the last few punches he took, poor guy couldnt defend himself. good to see he came back with a win after that loss. isnt he one of the trainers at the xtreme couture gym in toronto? not sure if it's open yet.

The loss to Schultz was brutal (though Chris beat him before)...the way he trapped Chris' arm was just *brilliant*. He claims to actually train for that manoevre too...not a fluke.

I heard that Xtreme Couture is going to have some rotating pro trainers, to accomodate their own training/fight schedules and some of the Tompkins guys will be involved. Should be interesting, although I wonder if a high profile place like that will attract a lot of peripheral guys just looking to learn 'how to fight'? I'd sooner go to a smaller, established gym with trainers well respected in the sport. There are several in and around Toronto.

sick fight, awesome being there. it really shows you how savage we really are, but fuck it! had a great time cept for the fact 3 of my friends got jumped by 10 ppl and beat to a bloody pulp. Met everyone from bisping to forrest griffin to GSP to dan hnderson soo many more i met too. chilled out a bit with george strompolompolous who was trying to work some game on some blonde girl in thursday which i dont think he scored on.

had half of montreal believing my brother in law was a featherweight champ. people were takin pics with him all night and i was pretending we had to get back to the gymn to train before the fight.

fun times minus the fact my friends got jumped for no fuckin reason.

sucks when it happens for no reason too, there are those times when your like i should have my head stomped in right now, im such an asshole. but when your trying to help someone out and they turn on you and blind side you outside the club 10 to 3 and just keep smashing ur head in when your unconcious that just doesnt settle right in my stomach. ruined the rest of the weekend
