what about the interfaces for the timecoded cds/vinyl?

or are you just on about using the xone 4D like any other soundcard? in which case, why traktor scratch and not just traktor?

im not an expert on Traktor Scratch, so if theres a nice way of setting it up on the 4D let me know!

So Native Instruments only allows the Traktor Scratch software to work with either the Audio8 DJ audio interface they sell (comes with the full traktor scratch package), or a certified mixer.

The Korg Zero 8 and Ecler EVO 5 are Traktor Scratch certified, as will be the Xone 4D.

What this means is you can just connect up your decks to the Xone 4D like normal, pop a timecode vinyl/cd on, and Traktor Scratch will work just fine without an additional external interface or extra cabling.

You can purchase Traktor Scratch without the Audio 8, it's still pretty pricey though.

thats pretty neat.

i thought some magic things happened to the timecode signal in the Audio8, but if it just goes through the normal connections through the 4D to the laptop then thats awesome.

not sure how that exactly works, but it sounds good

Nothing magic about timecode, it's just audio!

Yea, there are people who use the Audio8 for Torq too , as long as connectiv is in. I'm honetsly suprirsed these programs haven't been cracked/hacked, I guess it's because they're not games or ableton live

Well, most people:

1. Don't already have a sound card that has the in's/out's and phono pre-amps.
2. Don't have the timecode vinyl (though the CD's are easy to copy).

Traktor Scratch has to be activated as well.

so ryan0751 it looks like your running the same rig that i would like to run are you still using the 3d or are you in to other things such as the zero 8 or the evo 5. to me the the 3d and probably the 4d is way overpriced for its intent. i think you would be better off with the 92 and a good midi controller. any exp with and evo or zero 8?

Hahahahahaha, yes, the MP2016a + XP2016a.

I'm not really using Ableton to DJ at all these days, it's all decks and traktor scratch.
