I kinda have to agree with Stereohead on this one...
If a dj is still playing the same tracks 4 months later ummm he is lazy.

i never said that a dj who plays 5-10 tracks from his previous set "sucks". read my post carefully before you start calling me out and putting words in my mouth. i think it's a sign of laziness (as someone else mentioned) and being too sure of themselves. the idea that they can keep feeding their crowd the same beats is pathetic, imo.

and if they are still residents, my deepest apologies for asking a question

That flyer is from LAST MONTH, not months as you claim. Looks like Chus and Ceballos to me. I was at that party and it was retardo.

A DJ that plays 5-10 tracks from his set 4 months later is lazy? What if it is an absolute banger that sounds SICK on the Stereo soundsystem? The guy can only play it once and that's it? Come on now.

i know they were here last month, jeez. why don't you start reading posts carefully before trying to make me look dumb; cuz it's not working. again i quote myself to clarify for you:

the key word there since you couldn't figure it out on your own is REGULARLY. when i started going to stereo, c&c were here every 2-4 months. now i barely hear of them.

show me at least 2 or 3 other stereo flyers from 2008 with them as the headliners and i'll be proven wrong! just showing me one doesn't prove anything!

and yes, a DJ that plays 5-10 tracks from his previous set is not just lazy; he's FUCKING lazy! 5-10 tracks (depending on their length) equals out to about 1-1.5 hours of music. if you wanna hear 1-1.5 hours of THE SAME tracks, then i don't think you're much of a stereohead either cuz a real one would want more diversity and exploring.

ask any famous international DJ that question and i bet you they will all agree that just a little more effort should be put into the track selection, especially when you're a resident a such a prestigious club.

please note that i wasn't trying to state a fact. if you go back to my original first post, you'd notice i simply asked if dimas had replaced c&c's residency. i ASKED something; i didn't STATE anything (outside of opinion).

5-10 tracks would also depend on the length of the set, if you are doing an 8 hour set, it is okay I think.

good point! i don't think it's okay either way, no matter the length of the set but...

when do we ever see DJs actually play a full-on 8 hour set at stereo with the exception of guys like danny howells, david morales, behrouz.

C&C i've seen them 3x at stereo and it's always been about 5am-10am. mayyyybeeeee 1130am MAX.

anyways, different strokes for different folks i guess. i just think it's an insult to my intelligence if the DJ keeps playing the same shit over and over, y'know? i'm not part of the "pilled-out-cracker-gimmee-hard-beats-doesn't-matter-if-it-all-sounds-the-same" crowd. i like it when a DJ almost challenges what I've already heard/seen/experienced. that for me, makes a very fulfilling night.

Chus and Ceballos sets are usually 5am to 11:30 or noon.

Calderone usually goes 4am to noon.

Anyway 5 to 10 songs that are the same from a few months ago is not that big of a deal.

For example

One track could be an personal edit/mashup that will never be released and is always played at a set.

One track could be a promo that has still not been released during the timeframe.

One track could be the producers own track that has provided him success.

One track could be from a totally different genre, for example, when Victor Calderone drops a deep house track in the near the end of his dark set.

Finally, one song could be a classic.

There, I gave you 5 different reasons as to how the same track from a previous set could be played in a current set.


And David Morales plays way more than 5 to 10 songs from his last set.

I get where Erika is coming from and there's nothing wrong with voicing your opinion and defending your point of view, I really don't think she means to offend or insult anyone..and in her defense she's going through major stress with school etc..so you should maybe take what she says with a grain of salt.

Hey Selma,

I am not really mocking her or at least it is not my intent to do so, just voicing my opinion and thoughts

I enjoy the TA community and I find no reason in mocking/disrespecting anybody that does not deserve it, and she does not.

Plus this forum wouldn't be as fun without Stereohead and a lot of other individuals...
