LTA on z103 sounds UBER-gay. lol

I'd say guv pulls in about 200k per week on average..

Posted by Big Boss on May-01-2008 21:45:

Who cares what it pulls in? You guys don't work for the club, so how would you know?

Posted by Ozmozis on May-01-2008 21:59:

LOL... you mean his office?

the offices at Guv is the head office for INK, and has been expanded a few times in the last few years.

Agreed with your later comments. It is a great business decision for guv. I just hope M&S don't have to switch their style because it's now on the radio.

FFS child... they were playing HOUSE music on the radio when you were in grade school!!

Back in the "good ol days" OUR music used to get tonnes of play top 40 radio. we had flipside with his trippin on energy show on Energy 108. We had Dr. Trance with his show on 108, then on 103.5 and then power 88.5. We had guys like M&S playing live to airs on the weekends.. hell BetterDays even had a 4000 person RAVE in a warehouse on Caledonia broadcast LIVE on Energy 108. Energy used to play shit loads of house and trance and even techno at all hours of the day even

This is nothing new... the world will not end.. and nothing will change.

lol @ ppl who have NO IDEA yet talk SOOO much

tranceaddict has been on CRACK lately, keeps me entertained, i LOVE it

Posted by chinamon on May-01-2008 22:41:

many of you may not agree with guv going live to air on z103 but if we want the edm scene to grow then it has to go mainstream. having the music/scene remain "underground" can only get you so far on an international scale. edm is mainstream in many countries around the world and thats how they make their mark.

sure, z103 may bring out a lot of noobs but we were all noobs at one point so its not very fair of you to be so judgemental. give the new people some time and we will be massive! i think this is a good opportunity for the toronto scene to thrive.

love how u have to go first, second, thrid.. no need for that.. Charles salary must be 500k but who knows what profit he really makes

and i did make a good point.. how much does the club really make??... how is that ruining this thread... btw.. theres no such thing as ruining a thread..

Ok homey...

Now you are seriously talking out of your ass...

You really don't have any idea about the clubs finances....and you never will...

But your guesses are way off so just stop trying...

toronto has way too many critics.
many people think they are "underground" which makes them cooler than others.

hahha jsiblin has absolutely no idea.
charles' "private room" is his office like you said.
he is often wandering around the club making sure things operate smoothly through the night. i dont think he spends much time in his office then the club is open.

I liked it when it was underground...

We didn't need to progress anymore internationally...

I agree that for business it may be a good idea to go live but it's still cheesy.....

It was so warm when it was dark...

You know you're my boy Jay...but you weren't there...

It was so nice..

But whatever...times change.... I'll still be there...

If it's LTA, doesn't that mean that they have to play a certain percentage of Canadian tracks?

That means they will drop the productions of their Toronto/Montreal boys and it's on the radio. That to me, is a good thing.

im pretty sure 103.5 has quite a few online listeners that are elsewhere on earth and that, to me, is a pretty good start.

I knew somebody was going to say that...

I don't think z103.5 as popular or even known all over the world as you may think...

Posted by jsibilin on May-01-2008 23:21:

here is a better question .. how much do u think z1035 is getting paid from the guv for ads on the radio?

I am guessing 10k /week

but who the fuck am i .. i know shit

its obviously not as popular as Radio1 but its the biggest we've got here in toronto for our style of music so it is a good start.

lol. Take it easy.
By 'radio' I meant z103.5
I just didn't want M&S to start playing like Danny D @ Distrikt or something. The chances of that happening are likely nill. I originally thought that Club246 or Energy would've been a better fit musically. However, lately I've noticed an improvement on z103's programming. Their live to air @ runway is decent from what I've caught while driving through Toronto and I know they have dnb in another room inside the club.

I'm actually looking forward to this now that I've thought more about it. It'll be awesome to tune into what's playing at SkyBar since I'm only at Guv once a month at the most.

lol
I'm sure most people around here agree that when you hear "z103" you think of danny d/distrikt music and I jumped to conclusions. Z103 is getting paid either way and Guv/M&S would never agree to that.
