Well, it's shit too.

But I reckon that track (and the rest of that crappy Picotto trance album) was actually one of the things that got me deeper into EDM.

It doesn't necessarily mean anything, but Picotto generally (aside from a few tracks like Komodo and Like This Like That) isn't a cheesy artist. Even back then he was making hard edged techno like Pegasus and Baguette, and since then he's had three albums of techno. It's not as though he's a cheese specialist. And it's not as though Komodo is notable on many levels aside from being cheesy. It's got a big go-lucky melody and a bit half-stolen from Deep Forest. Otherwise I might have said "I don't see why people slate Komodo. It's cheesy as fuck, but it's a damn good track".

EDIT: Well, thinking about it he probably was a cheesy artist who grew out of it. One of my favourite Picotto tunes is We've Got To Live Together by RAF and that's so cheesy the lactose intolerant aren't allowed to listen. I'm not bashing it purely for being cheesy, I'm bashing Komodo because it's nothing but cheesy.

Oh no- the condescending roll-eyes smiley! You must be superior to me if you used that.

Seriously mate, before you go telling me I "talk out my ass", learn to use a dictionary and figure out what the fuck "stipulation" means.

Oh, and "punter" is slang for someone who has paid money for something, you clueless cock. Have you been watching Guy Ritchie films and think you've got the gift of the gab, or something? You're on a hiding to nothing my son, so jog right on.

oh noes, I drew a wrath of cockney slang police! Tell you what, when you master Russian to the level of my English, you can give me all the shit in the world about misuse of words. Meanwhile, look up a word "knob cheese" and "cun+" - coz that's what I think of ya. Now, fack off, ya bloody poofter!

What's wrong with you guys? Mauro has released constantly the last years tracks on his label Alchemy. Most of them had great success and were played by Djs like Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, Dubfire, Gregor Tresher etc...

2008 he has released on February Flashing as digital release on Beatport with great success and he's supporting new Djs on his Alchemy label like Daniele Papini, Hale etc..

If he wasn't that good I don't think that Djs like Markantonio, Vigorito and Rino Cerrone would have released on his Alchemy label.

Forget commercial shit like Komodo, Proximus. These times are over since 6 years now. Mauro has changed into techno, minimal and house.
He's a great DJ with a real good feeling for the dancefloor.

If you want to hear cheesy trance and commercial stuff go and listen to Scooter!

saw him at crasher tonight

it was billed as a 'past, present & future' set but i barely heard any past at all, save for the komodo intro as a set-opener & iguana thwacked on at the end

the rest was all his newer minimal techno bollocks, which i enjoyed for about an hour before tedium at the total lack of direction kicked in

We get that 'Past, Present & Future' bullshit here too, I mean yeah, he's going to pluck some tunes from 6 months in the future? And who really cares for the classics EVERY time he plays? Although it is what most of the chavy bastards round here are into!

'Oh I've heard this before, yay!'

'This used to be my ringtone'

+1. mauro has been doing great music and going his own direction for a few years now(with the assistance of riccardo ferri). its good that you never hear any of his stuff on tiesto or armins radio shows, and its sad to hear people assuming picotto isnt doing anything unless its being played on trance internet radio. the picotto/ferri team are pretty much the best techno act there has ever been. way better than the current wimps that dominate the majority of the scene. and its a curse to go on about komodo when there are things like 'contaminato', 'greens', 'verdi', 'do it twice' etc to talk about. picottos trance was awsome back in 1999, and the monotone techno b-sides on bxr were even better. picotto may not be releasing chart worthy music, but he is still top of the game in many peoples eyes.

Still love Pandoro and Verdi. Last i heard from him the the remix of the Funkytime track, which wasn't excactly my cup of tea..but perhaps i shouldn't give up on him yet.

Picotto's mix of 'CRW - I feel love' is quality.
