It's the cost of appeals (paying for trials, lawyers, judges, et al) that rings up the bill. And this could go on for years before an execution is carried out.

I forgot where I got the stats from. The book was made into a movie starring Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon about death row inmate.

When you have lawyers representing the person to be executed eventually being disbarred, I think that alone shows one shouldn't put much faith into the system.

Not to mention the conundrum of, Person A kills Person B, therefore State/Federal Government kills Person A. Representation to be proud of, eh?

then get rid of all that bullshit. if someone is found guilty of murder in court, give them a couple days to say goodbye and send them off to death....simple as that, fuck their rights, they shouldnt have any when u commit serious crimes.

Also, what do you mean fuck their rights? Even people who have done terrible things deserve their most basic rights.
