I wouldn't even have known it was a deadmau5 track had I not seen the tracklist.

I wouldn't buy it myself, but in the context of this mix I thought it worked just fine (and hell I even enjoyed it... the heart monitor sound is cheesy but effective, and it's got a nice rhythm to it).

Anyway, back on topic, downloading

Me too, hoping that this set appeals more to me than the one I heard previously. Have heard exactly 0 of the tracks, so I'm trying things out again.

Downloading excitedly, as I was unable to tune in at the time.

Alright, so, to me, this mix was all about the basslines! Holy shit. I'm listening on the shittiest of shit cheap shitphones and the bass still majorly caught my attention.

Overall, the mix started out strong and maintained it up until about the end... the last track or so I got a bit bored. But, other than that... nice!!

And where/when can I get that track that comes in with the orgasmic bass dropping in at 7:26?

I didn't even notice which one was the mau5 track... and I'm not one to segregate a track solely because of its artist, so, no issue for me.

Great job!

That's Tom's (nrjizer) tune - it's coming out on Audio Logic eventually, but I have no idea as to when.

Absolute monster though, thanks for the reviews

Late to the party, but definately in. On the first track right now. 'Blank' is made of win. Really good mashup there.

EDIT: I share the sentiments that the second track is an absolute stormer.

leeching

Posted by Az on May-14-2008 23:16:

thoroughly enjoyed this, apart from as expected the deadmau5 tune.
Got my digging out a few of the oldies here rob, I hadn't heard rancho relaxo in aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages and do you need help is always fun to play
good shit man

I'm going to disagree with the crowd (and probably kill any dwindling credibility I might have had) and say I thought the Deadmau5 track was kinda dope and worked in the mix...

Posted by Sukhoi29SU on May-15-2008 00:51:

downloading! thanks for the share rob.
despite all the deadmau5 bashing, i think some of his tracks fit nicely in many mixes.
Looking forward to this one

I agree as well. Gave this a full proper listen today @ work along with Az and Myra's mixes. Great stuff as usual

Finished this yesterday, Rob. And I must say that this was really, really well done. Every mix that you put up in this section seems to out do the last.

I'm listening through a second time as I write this and overall the flow and mixing is superb.

Very glad to hear you now have a radio show on a station that actually gets some traffic.

Will definately be tuning in when I can.

And what I at is how many people absolutely hate "Secondary Complications."

Taste is taste, so I understand - believe me. It's just odd to me that it sounds like a lot (and I mean a LOT) of other techy stuff out there right now, yet people are just disgusted by it for some reason.

Clovis - you even said in the initial review you sent me that the only thing that bothered you about it was that it was a Deadmau5 track and that you just didn't want to support anything he does anymore

I feel like I shot myself in the foot just for using a tune by a producer who everyone here seems to agree that they hate.

That and I don't like the sound it has. I just wouldn't pay for any of his music probably ever again, unless theres some huge change of direction and he makes something actually interesting to me, but I think thats about as likely to happen as Dubfire actually being underground.

Posted by Protege on May-16-2008 05:26:

oh shit new music from rob, Im in.

Posted by Stu Cox on May-16-2008 10:33:

It is indeed a very good mix... I don't know enough about deep techy house to say much more than that

And f*&% all you mau5hat0rz, I thought it worked well.

Wonderful set. This definately kept my mood up while editing my final film. I'll be tuned to future episodes. What is the schedule exactly?

Posted by woscar on May-20-2008 04:01:

Damn it Rob, I just fucking love your last sets! I think I might be on my way to becoming a fanboy

The way you totally pumped up 'Herb LF Miles (Original Mix)' is just awesome.

Edit: And what you did with "The MFA - The Difference It Makes" to end your set is just insane!

Posted by Protege on May-20-2008 06:13:

Ill take some info on track 2 please.

I really liked the mix Rob. I totally digged the beginning tracks and the end starting with the Dextro track. I like your mixing style, im always intrigued to listen to your mixes. Great work.
